The Edward Scissorhands Steelbook 4K Blu-Ray Arrives Just In Time For Halloween

Tim Burton is responsible for a long list of fantastic films, but few are as highly regarded as Edward Scissorhands, which happens to be celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, Disney and 20th Century Fox are finally bringing the film to 4K Blu-ray for the first time with the Edward Scissorhands Limited Edition Steelbook launching on October 28. This new steelbook release includes a 4K UHD version of the film along with a few bonus features. Preorders are available for $41.49 at Amazon. Like most limited edition steelbooks, we’re expecting this one to be quite popular, so it’s worth securing your copy ahead of launch.

If you want to dive deeper into the lore of Edward Scissorhands, be sure to check out the handful of bonus features included with this steelbook.

  • Two audio commentary tracks from director Tim Burton and composer Danny Elfman
  • Featurette: Hear from the Edward Scissorhands cast and crew about Burton’s reinterpretation of Frankenstein

If you don’t want to wait for the new 4K Steelbook release, the Edward Scissorhands: 25th Anniversary Blu-ray is also available for $8.95. This lacks the 4K presentation and steelbook case, but it features its own exclusive packaging with unique cover art.

Tim Burton’s films typically make for excellent viewing around Halloween, thanks to their spooky vibes, off-kilter characters, and gothic art direction. Luckily, many of Burton’s films are available on 4K Blu-ray, and most of them are currently on sale. His latest release, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, just received a new steelbook in September and is available for $30 (was $35), while the original Beetlejuice is available on 4K Blu-ray for $19 (was $35). You can also pick up the recent 4K Blu-ray version of one of his stop-motion classics, Corpse Bride, on 4K Blu-ray for $30 (was $45.49). Along with Edward Scissorhands, many of Burton’s films are also great for Christmas time–most notably The Nightmare Before Christmas, but also his iconic takes on DC Comics’ caped crusader, Batman (1989) and Batman Returns. Check out the list below for dozens of other Tim Burton movies available on 4K and standard Blu-ray.
