strategy war games for ps4

[Article Body]

Alright, let’s talk about them strategy war games on that PS4 thingy, you know, the PlayStation 4. My grandson, he’s always yappin’ about it, so I figured I’d take a look. Seems like there’s a whole bunch of ’em, some good, some…well, not so much.

First off, they got this Call of Duty: WWII. Now, that one, that’s about that big war, you know, the one with all them Germans and such. My old man, he used to tell stories ‘bout that war. Anyway, this game, it’s got a lot of shootin’ and whatnot. You gotta be smart, plan your moves, or you’ll get yourself killed quick. It ain’t just runnin’ around like a chicken with its head cut off, no sir. You gotta use your head, think like a general, or somethin’.

Then there’s this Drive on Moscow game. This one’s about that Eastern Front, where it was real cold and them Russians were fightin’ hard. This game, they say it’s for “demanding players.” That means it’s tough, I reckon. You gotta really know what you’re doin’, plannin’ your attacks, makin’ sure your fellas got enough supplies, all that jazz. It ain’t for the faint of heart, that’s for sure.

Now, my grandson was tellin’ me about somethin’ called Baldur’s Gate 3. Said it just came out not too long ago. I don’t know much about this one, but he says it’s got a lot of thinkin’ involved. You gotta make choices, and them choices matter, see? It ain’t just about fightin’, it’s about talkin’ and figurin’ things out, like how to get that stubborn mule to plow the field, you know?

  • Grand Ages: Medieval: This one’s got them menus and numbers, all that fancy stuff. My grandson says it’s like runnin’ a whole kingdom, not just a battle. You gotta manage your money, your people, your army… sounds like a headache to me, but some folks like that kinda thing.
  • Crusader Kings III: Another one of them kingdom games. I hear you can marry folks, have kids, make alliances… sounds like a soap opera, but with swords and shields.
  • XCOM 2: Now this one’s about fightin’ aliens! You gotta build up your squad, research new weapons, and take on them space critters. My grandson says it’s real tough, but satisfying when you win.

Seems like there ain’t a whole heap of these strategy games on the PS4, not like on them computers. My grandson says it’s ‘cause the computer is better for that kinda stuff, with the mouse and keyboard. But there’s still some good ones out there if you look hard enough. And they ain’t all just about shootin’, some of ‘em are about thinkin’ and plannin’, like a good chess game. You gotta be smart, you gotta be patient, and you gotta be willin’ to lose a few battles before you win the war.

Other games my grandson mentioned were Offworld Trading Company, where you’re trading stuff in space, I think, Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, which is probably about more space stuff, Total War: Warhammer II, with all them fantasy creatures and big battles, Civilization VI, where you build an empire from the ground up, Company of Heroes 2: Ardennes Assault, another war game, and Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2, which is an old one but still good, he says. That’s a whole lotta games! I can’t keep track of ‘em all, to be honest.

So, if you’re lookin’ for a strategy war game on your PS4, there’s a few choices. Just remember, it ain’t all about fast fingers and quick reflexes. You gotta use your brain, plan ahead, and be willin’ to adapt. And don’t get discouraged if you lose a few times, even the best generals lose battles now and then. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and try again.

And for the love of Pete, don’t forget to eat your vegetables! You need your strength if you’re gonna be fightin’ wars, even if they’re just on a TV screen.
