strategy games 2 player
Alright, let’s talk about them strategy games, the ones you play with another person. You know, like when your grandson comes over and he’s all bored, and you gotta find somethin’ to do besides watchin’ them loud TV shows.
So, there’s these games, they call ’em “two-player” games. Means two folks can play. Some are simple, like that tic-tac-toe thing. You draw them lines, and you try to get three in a row. Kids love it. Easy peasy. But then there’s them other ones, the ones that make you think. They ain’t always easy, but they sure are fun.
I heard tell of some games on that “itchy-o” thing, the computer thingy. My grandson, he plays ’em. Says there’s games like “Angy” and “Small Wars”. Sound kinda violent if you ask me. But he says it’s all pretend. He also plays somethin’ called “Risk Round”. Sounds risky alright! And “Trip and Traps”? Lordy, sounds like a mess waiting to happen! He also talks about “Mindustry”, “Battle for Wesnoth”, “Attack on Toys”, “Party Project” and “Fog of Life 2”. Too many names for this old brain to remember, but he seems to like ’em.
- Tic-Tac-Toe: Easy to learn, good for the little ones.
- Angy: Don’t know much about it, but the boy seems to like it.
- Small Wars: Guess it’s like them toy soldiers, but on the computer.
- Risk Round: Probably involves takin’ chances, like life itself.
- Trip and Traps: Sounds like a headache, but the young’uns like the challenge.
- Mindustry: No idea what this is, sounds complicated.
- Battle for Wesnoth: Battles and wars, not my cup of tea, but the kids enjoy it.
- Attack on Toys: More pretend fighting, I guess.
- Party Project: Maybe a bit more fun, less fighting?
- Fog of Life 2: Sounds mysterious, probably have to think hard in this one.
- Plants vs Zombies: It’s Versus Time: Like that garden game, but you play against another person.
Then there’s them board games. Now, them I understand. You got your checkers, your chess. My old man, he loved chess. Said it made you think ahead, plan your moves. I never was much good at it, all them fancy pieces movin’ every which way. Checkers, now that’s somethin’ I could handle. Jump, jump, jump, try to get to the other side. Simple, but still fun.
There’s this game, “Sky Team”, they say it’s a good one for two people. Supposed to be easy to learn but gets harder as you go. My grandson says you have to work together, which is nice. Sounds like it would keep you busy for a while, too, lots of different things to do in it. They also talk about “Civilization 6”. Now that sounds fancy. Apparently, you build cities and stuff. Probably takes a long time to play, but some folks like that.

And don’t forget the card games! My sister, bless her heart, she loved to play cards. Said there was this game called “Cribbage” that was the best. I never learned it myself, too many numbers and rules. But she could play it for hours. There’s also “Schnapsen”, she said it was the best game with just two people using tricks. And for rummy games, she always said “Canasta” was the best for two players. All them card games, they make your head spin, but they keep you sharp, I guess.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a way to pass the time with someone, try one of them strategy games. Whether it’s on the computer, a board, or a deck of cards, there’s somethin’ out there for everyone. Just don’t get too frustrated if you lose. It’s all just a game, after all.
And remember, the best game is the one that makes you laugh and have a good time. That’s what really matters, ain’t it?
So go on, find yourself a game and a partner, and have some fun. Life’s too short to be bored all the time.
