splendour board game review
Alright, let’s talk about this here Splendour board game. Folks keep askin’ me ’bout it, so I figured I’d give it a whirl and tell ya what I think. Don’t expect no fancy words, I’m just gonna tell it like it is, ya hear?
First off, this game ain’t for babies. The box says 10 and up, and I reckon that’s about right. My little grandkid, bless his heart, he couldn’t make heads or tails of it. Too much thinkin’ involved, ya know? But for the older kids and us grown-ups, it’s a pretty good time.
Now, some folks say it’s easy to learn. And yeah, I guess it ain’t rocket science. But it ain’t like them simple games where you just roll dice and move your piece. You gotta be thinkin’ ahead, plannin’ your moves. It’s kinda like… how do I put this… it’s like you’re buildin’ somethin’, like a business or somethin’. You gotta collect these here gemstone cards, see? And them cards help you get more cards, and then you get points. It’s all about gettin’ them points, ya know?
- Easy to learn? Sorta. Not too hard, but not for little kids.
- Good for family? Yep, if your kids ain’t too young.
- Fun for adults? Sure is, keeps your brain busy.
Some folks who like numbers and such, they’ll probably love this game. ‘Cause you gotta be countin’ and figurin’ out which cards to get. Me, I ain’t much for math, but I still managed to win a few times. So don’t let that scare ya off.
This Splendour game, it ain’t got no big story or nothin’. It ain’t like them games where you’re fightin’ dragons or buildin’ castles. It’s just about gettin’ them gemstones and gettin’ them points. But that’s alright, sometimes you don’t need all that fancy stuff. Sometimes you just wanna sit down and play a game that makes you think a little, ya know?

I heard someone say it’s like that Ticket to Ride game. Now, I ain’t played that one, but if it’s anythin’ like Splendour, it must be pretty good. ‘Cause this Splendour game, it’s got that somethin’ somethin’ that makes you wanna play it again and again.
And another thing, it don’t take forever to play. Some games, they just drag on and on, and you’re sittin’ there wishin’ it would just end. But Splendour, it’s just about right. You can play a game in, I dunno, maybe half an hour or so. So you ain’t gotta clear your whole day for it.
Is Splendour a good game to add to your collection? I reckon it is. It’s one of them games that you can pull out when folks come over, and everyone will have a good time. It ain’t too complicated, but it ain’t too simple neither. It’s just right, like Goldilocks and her porridge, ya know?
Now, I ain’t no expert on games or nothin’. I’m just tellin’ ya what I think. But if you’re lookin’ for a game that’s fun, easy enough to learn, and keeps your brain busy, then I’d say give Splendour a try. You might just like it. And if you don’t, well, you can always give it to your neighbor’s kid, ha!
So there you have it. My take on the Splendour board game. Hope it helped ya out. Now go on and have yourself a good time. And don’t forget to eat your vegetables!
One more thing, if you’re playin’ with just a couple of folks, it might not be as excitin’. This game, it’s better with more people, ya know? More folks, more competition, more fun. That’s what I always say.
And that’s all I got to say about this splendor board game review. Go on now, git outta here, and go play somethin!
