Shovel Knight Is Getting An Expanded Art Book Next Year

Fan-favorite indie platformer Shovel Knight got its first official art book back in 2017, but soon a new expanded hardcover edition is set to launch on May 26, 2026. The new Shovel Knight: Ultimate Design Works Hardcover Edition will include nearly 100 pages of new content covering the many Shovel Knight expansions and spin-offs that have launched in since the original book. Preorders for the Shovel Knight: Ultimate Design Works Hardcover Edition are available for $60 at Amazon. Publisher Udon Entertainment is also offering an exclusive version of the book through its online store that includes an exclusive Shovel Knight metal art card illustrated by Edwin Huang.

This new edition features all the original artwork from the paperback, as well as brand-new key art, character concepts, enemy designs, sprite sheets, and unused ideas from the game, its expansions, and spin-offs. There are also two new, exclusive interviews with the Yacht Club Games team. The new content increases the page count to 276 pages–a substantial expansion on the original 183-page paperback book.
