scream the game review

Alright, alright, let’s talk about this here Scream the Game, ya hear? My grandkids, they got all sorts of these newfangled games, and this one, well, it’s supposed to be spooky. Like them scary movies the young’uns watch, only now you’re playin’ it at the table.

So, what’s the deal with this game? It’s like this: you got this Ghost Face fella, real bad dude, chasin’ after ya. And you and your friends, or whoever you’re playin’ with, gotta work together to, ya know, not get caught. You gotta collect these cards, see? And each card is part of a scene, like somethin’ from a movie. Gotta get all the cards for a scene to finish it and get away from that Ghost Face.

Now, this ain’t no solitaire game, no sir. You gotta be tradin’ cards with the other folks, helpin’ each other out. ‘Cause if Ghost Face calls you, well, you’re in a heap of trouble. He sets ya back, makes it harder to win. So, it’s all about teamwork, which is somethin’ these young folks need to learn anyway, always glued to their phones.

  • Ghost Face Chasin’: That’s the main thing. This scary fella is after ya, and you gotta be quick and smart.
  • Card Collectin’: Gotta get them cards to make scenes, like puttin’ together a puzzle, but with scary pictures.
  • Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Can’t do it alone, gotta help your friends and they gotta help you.
  • Quick Play: They say it takes about 20 minutes. That’s good, ain’t nobody got time for them games that drag on forever.

They say this game is for 3 to 8 players, and for kids 13 and up. Thirteen! When I was thirteen, we were out workin’ in the fields, not playin’ no fancy board games. But times change, I guess. My grandkids, they seem to like it. They get all excited, screamin’ and laughin’, especially when Ghost Face calls someone.

Now, I ain’t no expert on these games, but it seems pretty straightforward. You draw cards, you trade cards, you try not to get caught. It’s got some tension, ya know? You’re always lookin’ over your shoulder, waitin’ for Ghost Face to get ya. Keeps you on your toes, that’s for sure.

Is it scary? Well, it ain’t gonna give you nightmares or nothin’, not like them movies. But it’s got that suspense, that thrill of the chase. And the pictures on the cards, they’re kinda creepy, with that Ghost Face mask starin’ at ya. It’s enough to get your heart pumpin’ a little, especially if you get into it.

And the best part? It’s short. Like I said, 20 minutes, give or take. That’s good ’cause some of these games, they take forever. You start playin’ after supper, and you’re still playin’ when the rooster crows. This one, you can play a few rounds, have some fun, and then get on with your day.

So, would I recommend this Scream the Game? Well, if you like them scary movies, and you like playin’ games with your friends or family, then yeah, I reckon you’d like it. It ain’t the most complicated thing in the world, but it’s fun. It gets you talkin’, laughin’, and maybe even screamin’ a little. And that’s what matters, right? Spendin’ some time together, havin’ a good time. Even if it means gettin’ chased by a fella in a spooky mask.

One thing though, these instructions they give ya, they’re a bit much. All them fancy words and rules. Took me a while to figure it out. But once you get the hang of it, it’s easy peasy. Just gotta remember: collect cards, trade cards, don’t get caught. Simple as that.

Final words? It ain’t a bad game. Fun for a bit, gets the young’uns off them screens for a while. Worth a try if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ new to play. Just don’t let that Ghost Face get ya!

And remember, work together, help each other out. That’s the only way you’re gonna survive. Just like in real life, I always say.
