review games for high school
Well now, I reckon y’all are lookin’ for some fun ways to help them high school kids remember all that stuff they’ve been learnin’. I tell ya, sometimes it’s like pullin’ teeth gettin’ ’em to pay attention, but if you make it a game, you can sure get ‘em interested. I’ve seen it work, and it’s easier than makin’ biscuits. Let me tell you about some review games that’ll get them kiddos havin’ a good ol’ time while they remember their lessons!
1. Family Feud – A Fun Competition
Now, I know y’all have heard of Family Feud, right? Well, this one’s just as fun as the show, but you don’t need no TV to play it! You’ll split the class into two teams. Then, one member from each team gets up to battle it out with a question. They’ll take turns answering questions you throw at ‘em, and if they get it right, their team gets a point. Simple, huh? But let me tell ya, it’s a real hoot. The kids start gettin’ all competitive and tryin’ to outsmart each other. You can ask questions about anything—history, science, math—you name it!
2. Pictionary – For the Artists and the Not-So-Artistic!
If you’ve never played Pictionary, let me tell ya, it’s a good ol’ time! And even if you can’t draw a lick, that’s just what makes it funny. In this game, you’ll divide the students into groups of four. One person from each group has to draw something, and the rest of the group has to guess what it is. But here’s the twist: the things they gotta draw are all review questions. Like, you might have them draw something related to the history of the Civil War, or maybe a diagram of the water cycle in science. The fun part is, the worse they draw, the funnier it gets! You’ll have the whole class laughin’ and learnin’ at the same time!

3. Charcoal Mask Review – A Peelin’ Good Time!
This one’s a little different, but I promise it’ll keep them kids askin’ for more. You know those charcoal peel-off masks they sell at the stores? Well, here’s what you do: take a few of ‘em and use ‘em for a peel-and-reveal review. The idea is simple. You write review questions on a piece of paper and cover it up with the charcoal mask. Then, you have the kids try to answer the questions. After they answer, they get to peel off the mask and see if they were right! It’s a fun and interactive way to get ‘em thinkin’ and guessin’. And you can make it as easy or as hard as you want, dependin’ on the material you want to cover. I promise, they’ll be beggin’ for more!
4. Friendly Feud – A Classroom Version of Family Feud
If you want to kick up the competition a notch, try this version called Friendly Feud. It’s just like the regular Family Feud, but you can make the questions a little more focused on what you’ve been teachin’ in class. You can ask questions about specific topics that y’all have been goin’ over, and the kids can team up to see who knows the most. You might even let ‘em pick their teams—trust me, they’ll get more excited that way! You can keep track of the scores on the board and award points for the fastest answers. The group that has the most points at the end gets a little prize. It’s a great way to review, and they’ll hardly even know they’re learnin’!
5. Quiz Show – Just Like on TV!
This one’s real simple, but effective. You set it up like a quiz show—like the old game show “Jeopardy!”—and let the kids pick from a list of review categories. You ask them questions based on what they’ve been learnin’, and they get points for correct answers. You can even make it more interesting by allowing ‘em to choose a “Double Points” category, or maybe make it a “Final Jeopardy” round for the last big question. It’s a fun way to keep ‘em engaged, and it’s real easy to set up. And the best part is, they’ll be reviewin’ everything they need to know for that test!
6. Flashcard Race
If you don’t have much time and need to get ‘em to remember some facts quick, this flashcard race is perfect. You just split the class into two teams, and each team gets a set of flashcards. The goal is to get through as many cards as possible, answering the questions correctly. The team that finishes first gets a point. You can even add some extra fun by making it a race to see who answers the questions fastest. It’s great for a quick review before a test, and it’s fast-paced, so no one gets bored!

So there ya have it, folks! Six fun and easy review games to help those high school kids get ready for their tests. They won’t even know they’re studyin’, they’ll be too busy laughin’ and playin’! The key to keepin’ ‘em interested is makin’ it fun and mixin’ it up a little. If you’ve got a bunch of different games in your back pocket, you’ll be able to keep ‘em on their toes and help ‘em remember what they’ve learned. Now get out there and start gamin’—you’ll be amazed at how much they learn while havin’ fun!
