new hunger games review
Well now, lemme tell ya ’bout this new Hunger Games movie, the one they call “Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.” I ain’t seen the other ones, but folks say you don’t gotta, though it might help ya know who’s who.
This fella, Tom Blyth, he’s one of them academy mentors, real ambitious like, and that Rachel Zegler gal, she’s a tribute in the Hunger Games, feisty as a barn cat. They got this kinda chemistry, not the lovey-dovey kind, but somethin’ strong and strange, like vinegar and baking soda. The whole thing’s about this fella who ends up bein’ a bad guy later on, I guess.
The story, they say it’s excitin’ and amazin’, enough to make ya wanna see more of them Hunger Games. And the music, oh honey, it’s somethin’ special. Them actors, they do a good job too, real strong performin’. But they say the endin’ felt kinda rushed and a bit frustratin’, like when you’re bakin’ a pie and the crust ain’t quite done.
- Story: They say it’s real good, keeps ya on the edge of your seat.
- Music: Real great, makes you wanna tap your feet.
- Actors: They do a fine job, make you believe they’re them characters.
Now, some folks who watch movies for a livin’, them critics, they got mixed feelin’s ’bout it. They liked the story and the actors, but they weren’t too happy with how it all came together, the “execution” they call it. Sounded like a fancy word for “messy” to me.
But let me tell ya, this movie, it made a whole heap of money, 349 million dollars! That’s more money than I ever seen in my life. They say it cost 100 million to make, so they made a good profit, huh? Makes the whole Hunger Games thing one of the richest movie series ever, 20th highest they say, with 3.3 billion dollars in total. That’s enough money to buy every chicken in the county, I reckon.

People in the theaters, they liked it a lot. One lady, Lauren LaMagna, she said it was a “delightful and expansive reentry into the world of Panem.” Panem, that’s where the Hunger Games happen, I guess. She said the fans wouldn’t be disappointed, and that’s a good thing, ain’t it?
This movie, it ain’t for the little kids, though. It’s got a PG-13 ratin’, which means there’s some stuff in there that ain’t suitable for young’uns. They say there’s kids dyin’, but not much blood, and some other stuff that might bother ya. And it’s a long one, almost 3 hours! Two hours and 45 minutes, to be exact. You better bring a comfy pillow if you go see it.
So, there ya have it. From what I hear, this new Hunger Games movie, “Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” is a pretty good one, even if it ain’t perfect. It’s got a good story, good music, good actors, and it made a whole lotta money. If you like them Hunger Games, you’ll probably like this one. Just remember to bring that pillow, and maybe a snack too.
Overall, even though I’m just an old woman who don’t know much about fancy movies, it sounds like this one’s worth seein’. It ain’t just a bunch of explosions and fightin’, there’s a story there, somethin’ to think about.
