My grandson, bless his heart, he’s always glued to that screen, yellin’ about Roblocks and all sorts. So I figured, maybe this Stalcraft is somethin’ he plays in there.

Now, from what I gather, this Stalcraft ain’t no Roblocks game. Nope. It’s its own thing, a big, scary game about Chernobyl, that place where that big boom happened, you know, the one on the TV? They say it’s like a “shooter” game, whatever that means. Sounds violent to me, all that shootin’. But the young’uns, they love it. They say it’s got monsters and stuff, and you gotta, you know, survive. Like in the real world, but with more… monsters, I guess.

• First off, Stalcraft is a whole different world, a grown-up game, not like them kiddie games on Roblocks.
• It’s set in Chernobyl, a real place, but all spooky and dangerous in the game. Full of mutants and weird stuff.
• You gotta shoot things, hide, and find food and water. Sounds like hard work to me.

Roblox, now, that’s somethin’ else entirely. It’s like a big ol’ box of toys, but on the computer. My grandson, he builds stuff in there, plays games with his friends, all sorts of silly things. He even made a little house once, looked like a shoebox, but he was proud of it. That’s what Roblocks is about, creatin’ and playin’ around.

I heard some folks sayin’ Stalcraft is a “MMO” game. Big words, I tell ya. Means lots of people playin’ together, I reckon. And it’s got “survival horror” elements, which sounds just awful to me. I don’t like horror, gives me the shivers. But these kids, they eat it up. They say it’s exciting, makes your heart pump. Maybe I’m just too old for all that excitement.

But folks who know about these things say Stalcraft took inspiration from it. It’s all about explorin’ a dangerous place, fightin’ bad guys, and tryin’ not to get eaten by whatever’s lurkin’ in the shadows.

Roblox, on the other hand, is made by some company in California. They started it way back in 2004. Imagine that, been makin’ games for that long! And now it’s got all these kids hooked, buildin’ and playin’ and spendin’ all their time on it. My grandson, he’d play it all day if I let him. I gotta tell him to go outside sometimes, get some fresh air.

So, to put it simple, Stalcraft is not a Roblocks game. It’s a separate thing, a more grown-up game, with guns and monsters and scary stuff. Roblox is for buildin’ and playin’ with friends, makin’ your own little worlds. Two different things, like apples and oranges, you see?

Now, I don’t know much about these computer games. I prefer sittin’ on my porch, watchin’ the birds. But these young’uns, they love ’em. And as long as they ain’t causin’ no trouble, I guess it’s alright. Just wish they’d spend more time outside, you know? Get some sunshine on their faces.
