Okay, so I’ve been hearing a lot about “In The Game” at Liberty Center, and I finally decided to check it out with the family last weekend. Here’s how it went down.

First off, getting there was pretty easy. We just plugged it into the GPS, and boom, we were there. Parking was no problem, plenty of spaces.

The Initial Vibe Check

Walking in, it’s loud. Like, really loud. Lots of flashing lights, game sounds, kids running around – the whole nine yards. It was a bit overwhelming at first, to be honest. My youngest was a little scared, but my older one was instantly hyped.

Game Time!

We grabbed one of those game cards and loaded it up with some credits. They had a deal going on, like, spend $20 and get $5 bonus, so we did that. Then, it was game on!

  • Arcade Classics: They had all the classics – air hockey, basketball hoops, those claw machines (which, let’s be real, are rigged). My husband spent way too long trying to win a stuffed animal, but no luck.
  • New Stuff: They also had a bunch of newer games I’d never seen before. Virtual reality stuff, racing games, some kind of zombie shooting thing. My older kid loved the racing games.
  • Ticket Frenzy: Most of the games spit out tickets, which you can redeem for prizes. We racked up a decent amount, mostly from this one game where you roll balls into holes. It looked easy, but it was harder than it looked!

Prize Redemption (aka The Letdown)

This is where things got a little…meh. We had a pile of tickets, but the prizes were kinda underwhelming. Lots of cheap plastic toys, candy, that sort of thing. We ended up getting a couple of bouncy balls and a slinky. The kids were happy, but I felt like we could have gotten more bang for our buck.

Food Situation

We got hungry, so we checked out the food options. They had the usual – pizza, burgers, fries. It was pretty standard, nothing fancy, but it did the trick. The service was a bit slow, but it was packed, so I guess that’s understandable.

Overall Thoughts

So, would I go back? Maybe. It’s a fun place to kill a few hours, especially if you have kids. It’s definitely not a cheap outing, though. Between the games and the food, we easily dropped over $100. But the kids had a blast, and that’s what really matters, right? I’d say it’s worth checking out if you’re in the area and looking for something to do, just be prepared for the noise and the crowds, and don’t expect to win big on those claw machines!
