imitation game movie review
Okay, so I decided to finally watch “The Imitation Game” the other night. I’d heard good things, you know, about Benedict Cumberbatch’s performance and all that. So, I grabbed some popcorn, settled in, and hit play.
First off, I opened my laptop and found a streaming service that had the movie. Pretty standard stuff. Then, I spent a good five minutes just reading different reviews online. I wanted to get a general sense of what people thought before diving in.
Getting into the Movie
Once I started the movie, I was immediately drawn in by the story. I mean, it’s about Alan Turing, this super-genius codebreaker during World War II. I’m a bit of a history buff, so this was right up my alley.
I took some notes as I watched. Just, like, jotting down key moments and my reactions. Mostly stuff like, “Wow, that’s intense!” or “Benedict is killing it!” Nothing too profound, haha.
- I paused at the “Christopher” references scene.
- I Googled something about Enigma Machine, Just want to know something more.
- I rewound some scenes with Joan Clarke, felt so relatable.
After Thoughts
After the movie finished, I just sat there for a bit, processing it all. It’s a powerful film, and it definitely made me think. I spent some more time reading about the real Alan Turing, and, man, his story is just heartbreaking.

Then I started writing down my own little review, trying to capture my thoughts and feelings. It was mostly just me rambling about how much I appreciated the movie and how it shed light on this important historical figure. I might polish it up later, but for now, it’s just my raw reaction.
Overall, I’m really glad I watched it. It’s not exactly a lighthearted movie night pick, but it’s one that’ll stick with me for a while.
