Okay, so the other day, I stumbled upon this game called “Happy Salmon.” The box was bright and silly, and I thought, “Why not?” I grabbed a few friends, and we decided to give it a shot. Let me tell you, it was a whirlwind of chaos and laughter.
Getting Started
First, we opened the box and dumped out the cards. They’re these colorful little fish-shaped things, pretty cute. Everyone grabbed a deck, and we quickly shuffled them. The instructions were super simple – basically, you shout out the action on your card and try to find someone else with the same one.
The Mayhem Begins
We started the game, and instantly, it was madness. Everyone was yelling things like “High Five!” “Pound It!” “Switcheroo!” and, of course, “Happy Salmon!” It’s this weird floppy fish-slapping thing you do with your forearms.
- “High Five!” was the easiest, just a quick slap of the hands.
- “Pound It!” was a fist bump, also pretty straightforward.
- “Switcheroo!” had us frantically swapping places around the table.
- “Happy Salmon!” was, by far, the most ridiculous, and the most fun.
Non-stop Action
We were all running,
slapping,
bumping,
and switching, constantly trying to find matches and discard our cards. The faster you get rid of your cards, the *’s a short game.
It felt like a total workout, and everyone was completely out of breath by the end.
Final outcome
I didn’t win, sadly. My friend Sarah was lightning-fast with those high fives. But honestly, winning wasn’t really the point. The whole experience was just pure, unadulterated silliness. We were all laughing so hard, our stomachs hurt.
