grand strategy games ps4
Alright, so, I’ve been diving deep into the world of grand strategy games on my PS4 lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I’ve always been a fan of strategy games, but I wanted to really push the limits of what I could do on my console. I started my journey a few weeks ago when I saw an online list, so I picked up a copy of “Stellaris.” I’d heard good things, and space exploration mixed with empire management sounded right up my alley.
First off, I booted up the game, and man, the learning curve was steeper than I expected. There are so many systems to learn, from managing resources, populations, and technologies. I spent the first few days just trying to get a handle on the basics, restarting multiple times when I realized I’d made some fatal errors early on.
Once I got the hang of “Stellaris,” I felt like a god, well, a space god. Building my empire, forming alliances, and engaging in intergalactic diplomacy was incredibly satisfying. But I wanted more. I remembered seeing another title on that list I found, “Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening,” so I decided to give that a shot. I mean, who doesn’t want to try their hand at feudal Japanese warfare?
- Switching Gears to Feudal Japan
This game was a completely different beast. Instead of managing star systems, I was dealing with fiefdoms and samurai. The combat system was intricate, and I loved the historical setting. I dove into the game’s mechanics, learning about troop formations, resource management unique to the era, and political intrigue. Let me tell you, betraying a neighboring clan and then crushing them on the battlefield? Absolutely thrilling.
- Exploring Other Titles
After conquering Japan (virtually, of course), I started looking at some other games. I saw something about a “Valkyria Chronicles Remastered.” It was not a grand strategy but the combination of tactical RPG and strategy caught my interest. I got my hands on the game and was not disappointed, but it was not a grand strategy.

I also tried to find something about “Command and Conquer” on PS4 but came up empty. Looks like it’s not available for PS4, which is a bummer. Found out it might be on Xbox, though.
- Going Back to Space, and the Victorian Era
I found another interesting title called “Star Trek: Infinite” on that list. Since it was set to release, I figured why not keep an eye out? Space strategy is clearly my thing. I also saw a title called “Victoria 3” which was released in 2022, and it’s about the Victorian era, a time of great change and industrialization. Sounds like fun, right? Managing an economy and dealing with social upheaval during such a pivotal time in history sounds like a great challenge.
- Trying Something Modern
I also stumbled upon a game called “World Warfare & Economics” that’s supposed to come out in 2023. It’s set in a modern, sci-fi world, which seems like a cool blend of the two genres I enjoy. Managing resources and warfare in a contemporary setting sounds interesting, to say the least. I’ll be keeping this one on my radar for sure.
Wrapping Up My Adventure
So, after weeks of playing, I’ve realized that the PS4 has a pretty decent collection of grand strategy games, each offering a unique experience. From space empires to feudal Japan, there’s a lot to explore. There were also mentions of some other games coming out, like “Terra Invicta,” which is set in the modern era. It sounds interesting and the setting of the modern era was quite a surprise. It is worth continuing to explore other grand strategy games.
I might try something other than grand strategy games next, just to mix things up a bit. But for now, I’m pretty happy with the adventures I’ve had. If you’re into strategy and have a PS4, I definitely recommend giving these games a try. Just be prepared to lose a lot of hours to them!
