Well, hello there, young’uns! Let me tell ya ’bout them good turn-based strategy games for your PC. You know, the kind where you gotta think a bit, not just run around like a headless chicken.

What are these games, anyway?

So, these turn-based thingamajigs, they ain’t like them fast-paced shooters. Naw, you take your sweet time, thinkin’ and plannin’. Like chess, you know? You move your fellas, then the computer or your friend moves theirs. It’s all about outsmartin’ the other fella.

Why folks like ’em?

Now, I reckon some folks like ’em ’cause they ain’t got the reflexes for them fast games. My arthritis ain’t what it used to be neither. Heh! But it ain’t just that. It’s ’bout usin’ your brain, see? Plannin’ ahead, makin’ smart choices. And some of these games, they got stories, too. Like them books you young’uns read, but you get to be part of it. Good stories, mind you, ’bout heroes and battles and such.

• You can think real hard, like you’re plannin’ a garden, but with armies.
• The stories are sometimes real good, makin’ you feel like you’re right there fightin’ the good fight.
• You don’t need to be all quick and jumpy. Even us old folks can play!

Some good ones to try

Now, I ain’t played all these newfangled games, but I hear tell of some good ones. There’s this “Civilization 6” game, folks say it’s like buildin’ your own little empire, from nothin’ to somethin’. Sounds right fancy. You start with a tiny town and grow it into a big city. You gotta manage everything, from farms to armies. Kinda like runnin’ a big farm, I guess, but with more fightin’. And you can play against the computer or other people online, which is pretty neat.

Then there’s somethin’ called “Banner Saga 3” I heard the young’uns talkin’ about. They say it’s got a good story, all about brave warriors and tough choices. Sounds like somethin’ my grandpappy woulda liked. From what I gather, it’s got a lot of vikings and it is a bit dark and gritty. And, it has those “tough choices” that I keep hearing about. The ones that change how the story goes. Like, you pick the wrong thing, and boom, everything goes to pot. Keeps ya on your toes, that’s for sure.

And if you like them fighty games, there’s “Battle Brothers.” That one’s all about leadin’ a bunch of mercenaries, fightin’ for coin and glory. Sounds like a rough life, but them mercenaries in the game seem to enjoy it. You hire all sorts of fellas, equip them with weapons and armor, and then go off on adventures. Gotta be careful though, ’cause them fellas can die for good. Makes it exciting, I reckon.

Oh, and for them young’uns who like them “person” games, there’s this “Persona 4 Golden”. It seems like a fancy game about high schoolers. But there’s more to it, see? They got these magical powers and fight monsters and stuff. And they go to school and make friends and all that. It’s like two games in one, from what I understand.

And there are more of them games out there, lost and forgotten! Some fellas on the internet, they like to dig up these old games. They call it “LT Gaming” or somethin’. They find all sorts of turn-based games, some good, some not so good. But it’s always fun to see what they find. Like findin’ old treasures in the attic, you know?

And for them Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans, there’s a new turn-based game called “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown”. Turtles fighting bad guys, using their brains and brawn. Sounds like a hoot!

Findin’ Them Games

Now, findin’ these games ain’t hard. You can go to them stores that sell games, or you can get them online, on your computer. They got these “sales” sometimes, where you can get the games cheaper. Like when the “Hooded Horse Publisher” has a sale, you gotta keep an eye out for that. They got all sorts of strategy games, turn-based and otherwise. Good deals, too, from what I hear. But be careful, don’t spend all your money at once!

So, there you have it. A little somethin’ about them good turn-based strategy games for your PC. Give ’em a try, you might just like ’em. And if you don’t, well, there’s plenty of other games out there. But remember, it’s always good to use your brain a little, even when you’re havin’ fun.
