Good Turn Based Strategy Games for Android, Ya Know?

Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about them strategy games, the kind you play on your phone. Them thinkin’ games, where you gotta plan stuff out, not just shoot everything that moves. My grandkids, they love these things, always tappin’ away on them little screens. So, I figured, why not tell you about some good ones, the ones that don’t suck your wallet dry.

First off, they got this Civilization 6 game. It’s like, you’re buildin’ a whole dang empire, from nothin’ to somethin’. You start with a little town, and then you gotta make it bigger, better. Gotta build farms, and houses, and armies, you know? It’s a lot to keep track of, but it’s fun, seein’ your little place grow into somethin’ big. My grandson he likes it because can play the historical simulator, not just kill people, although there is also killing people, kind of like fighting with the neighbors over the fence.

Then there’s this game called ROME: Total War. This one’s all about fightin’ big battles, with lots of soldiers. You gotta move your guys around, tryin’ to outsmart the other fella. It ain’t just about havin’ the biggest army, you gotta use your head, too. It’s real satisfying when you win a tough battle, you know, makes you feel like a real general.

  • Buildin’ empires and fightin’ wars, that’s what these games are all about.
  • But it ain’t all just killin’ and conquerin’, you gotta think, too.
  • And that’s what makes ’em fun, keeps your brain workin’.

Now, some of these games, they try to trick you into spendin’ all your money. They got these little things you can buy, to make your army stronger or your buildin’s faster. But you don’t need none of that, not if you’re smart. The best games, they let you win without spendin’ a dime. They ain’t greedy like some folk I know down the road.

There’s this other game, Rusted Warfare. It ain’t fancy-lookin’, but it’s good. It’s like them old-timey strategy games, where you build tanks and planes and send ‘em off to fight. It’s simple, but it’s fun. My nephew said they also have it on computers, must be one of them good games then. And the thing is, it don’t cost much, which is always a good thing in my book.

Another one my grandkids are always playin’ is Bloons TD 6. Now, this one’s a little different. You gotta place these monkeys around a track, and they gotta pop balloons. Sounds silly, I know, but it’s actually pretty addictive. And there’s a ton of different monkeys you can use, each with their own special powers. It keeps you on your toes, that’s for sure.

Then there’s Into the Breach, now that’s a brain teaser. You gotta protect cities from these giant bugs, and you only got a few turns to do it. It’s tough, but it’s fair. And it makes you feel real smart when you figure out how to beat a level. This here makes the old brain wrinkle work, like trying to figure out how to make the pressure cooker without it exploding.

And let’s not forget Northgard, where you gotta lead a clan of Vikings to conquer a new land. You gotta manage your resources, build your settlement, and fight off other clans and mythical creatures. It’s got a good story, too, which is always a nice bonus. I do love a good story, keeps your mind busy.

Auto Chess, that’s a funny one. You buy these little characters and they fight for you automatically. But you gotta be smart about which characters you buy and how you arrange them. It’s like a game of poker, but with fantasy creatures. And the best thing is, the games are pretty quick, so you can play a few rounds even if you don’t have a lot of time.

Lastly, Crying Suns is something different again. It’s a space game, with a story about a dying empire. You gotta explore the galaxy, fight enemies, and make tough choices. It’s kinda dark, but it’s also really engaging. This is not my kind of game, all them fancy things flying everywhere makes my head hurts, but I see my grand daughter likes to play it with her friends.

So, there you have it. A few good turn-based strategy games for your phone, without all that pay-to-win nonsense. Just good, honest games that make you think. Now, go on and have some fun, but don’t stay up too late, ya hear?
