good single player strategy games
Okay, so, I’ve been really into single-player strategy games lately. I wanted to share my experience with a few that I’ve been playing. They’re pretty fun, and I think you guys might like them too.
I started with Civilization 6, you know, the one where you build your own empire and stuff. It’s actually pretty cool, especially with all the expansions they’ve added. This game really got me hooked on strategy stuff. It’s like, you start with nothing, and then you’re suddenly in charge of this whole civilization. I spent hours just trying to figure out the best way to expand and make my people happy. Building wonders and managing resources felt really rewarding.
Then, I remembered this old game called Empire of Angels. It’s a Chinese war chess game, also known as SLG. I played it a lot when I was younger. It’s a lot like Civilization in some ways, but it’s got its own unique style. I loved the strategic depth of it. You have to think carefully about every move you make. Positioning your troops and planning your attacks is crucial. I had a blast revisiting this classic.
- I also tried out some other types of games that are kind of strategy-related.
- Like platformers, Castlevania and Metroid. These are not strategy games but has some strategy elements.
- And Ori and the Blind Forest. These have some strategy elements, but they’re more about action and exploring.
- Dead Cells and Hollow Knight are tough but fun.
- Then there’s Shovel Knight, which is a bit more lighthearted.
Then I moved on to Company of Heroes 3. Man, this game is intense! It’s a World War II RTS game, and it’s super realistic. I felt like I was actually in the middle of a war. It’s not just about building a base and sending out troops. You have to really think about tactics, like using cover and flanking your enemies. I lost a lot of battles at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was super satisfying.
I also tried some puzzle games. Played Portal 2 again, it’s kind of a strategy game in its own way. I mean, you have to figure out how to use the portals to solve puzzles, right? It is a good game to play when you want something different.

I searched some top 100 PC games lists online. Found a lot of good games, but they didn’t quite hit the spot for me. Then I tried some online games you can play in your browser. They were fun for a bit, but I wanted something I could really sink my teeth into, you know?
So yeah, that’s what I’ve been up to lately. I just felt like playing some good single-player strategy games, and these were some of the best ones I found. If you’re into strategy, you should definitely check them out. They’re a great way to challenge yourself and have some fun at the same time.
My Experience
I found that playing these games really helped me relax and unwind. It’s like, you get so absorbed in the game that you forget about everything else. Plus, it’s a great way to keep your mind sharp. I actually felt like I was getting smarter while playing, lol.
Anyway, I hope you guys found this interesting. I’m no expert or anything, but I just wanted to share my experience with these games. Maybe I’ll try some more strategy games and write about them later. It was fun talking about these games. Maybe I’ll do it again sometime.
