Okay, so I’ve been hearing a lot about this Topgolf Swing Suite thing, and I finally got a chance to check it out with some buddies. We’re all pretty into golf, but not, like, good at it, you know? So the idea of a virtual driving range sounded kinda fun.

First off, finding a place that actually had one was a bit of a hunt. Not every Topgolf location has the Swing Suite – it’s more like a separate, smaller setup. We ended up booking a bay at a spot a little outside the city.

Getting Started

When we got there, the setup was pretty slick. It’s basically a big screen, a hitting mat, and some comfy seating. They had a bunch of different clubs you could use, which was cool, because I didn’t have to lug my own set around.

The staff showed us the ropes – how to choose a game, pick a club, and all that. The interface was pretty intuitive, it’s touchscreen, and we figured it out pretty quickly.

Playing the Games

  • We started with the basic Topgolf game, where you’re trying to hit targets on the virtual range. This part was awesome. The ball tracking felt super accurate, and it was really satisfying to see your shot fly on the screen, even if it wasn’t a perfect drive.
  • Then we messed around with some of the other games. They had zombie dodgeball (which was hilariously bad), a baseball pitching game, and even some carnival-style games. It was a good mix, definitely something for everyone, even if you’re not a huge golfer.

Drinks and Food

One of the best parts? You can order food and drinks right to your bay. We got some beers and appetizers, and it made the whole thing feel like a really chill hangout, not just a serious golf practice session. The service was pretty quick, too, which was a plus.

My Opinion

Honestly, the whole experience was more fun than I expected. It’s not exactly like real golf, of course, but it’s a great way to spend a few hours with friends, especially if the weather’s bad or you just want something a little * definitely lived up to the hype, in my experience. We’re already planning another outing.
