Well, let me tell you, this Genshin Impact thing, it’s a real head-scratcher. My grandkids, they’re all about it. They talk about “xiao” and “heizou” and someone called “reader.” Sounds like a whole lot of nonsense to me, but they sure do love it. This whole thing about “genshin impact x ignored reader”, it’s got me confused!

They say this “reader” person, they get ignored. Now, why would anyone want to ignore someone? Don’t make a lick of sense. Back in my day, if you ignored someone, it meant you were madder than a wet hen. Maybe this “reader” did something to get on someone’s bad side. Like not sharing their “artifacts” or whatever they call ’em. Or maybe they didn’t help with a “bounty”. Kids and their games, I swear.

My granddaughter, she tried to explain it to me once. Said this “reader” is like you, but in the game. You make choices, you talk to folks, you go on adventures. And sometimes, these other folks, these “xiao” and “heizou” characters, they get all huffy and ignore you. I guess it means a “QUEST FAILED” or somethin’, she tried to explain but she was talkin’ too fast! This all “angst to fluff” and “hurt/comfort” stuff just makes my head spin.

• This one time, she was playing, and this “xiao” fella, he got all hurt.
• She said he had a “near-death experience.”
• Land sakes, these games are gettin’ too real, if you ask me.
• She was all worried, tryin’ to make him feel better.

I told her, “Honey, it’s just a game.” But she wouldn’t listen. She was all invested in these “characters” and their feelings. These young’uns get so attached to these things, it’s like they’re real people. They sure love their “fem!reader”. I hear that one a lot, always talkin’ ’bout it.

Now, they talk about “Inazuma” and “Mondstadt” like they’re real places. They say this “reader” goes on trips there. They even got a “Radio Demon” now, what in tarnation is that? I heard them say something about a “Hazbin Hotel” too. Last time I heard about a hotel was when I went to the city with Mildred, Lord rest her soul, and we saw that fancy place downtown. I even heard somethin’ about a “Hilichurl” and a “Mitachurl”. Sounds like gibberish!

They say they travel with someone named “Aether” and “Paimon.” Sounds like a couple of troublemakers, if you ask me. Always gettin’ into scrapes, fightin’ monsters, lookin’ for some “blondie’s sister.” And this “reader,” they’re right in the thick of it. Always usin’ their “pyro” powers. I don’t even know what that is! These kids and their lingo.

They go on and on about this “Geo Archon” fella. Sounds important. Like the mayor or something. And this “Dihua Marsh.” They say it’s a pretty place. Maybe it’s like that swamp down by old man Hemlock’s farm. Except with more of those “Diluc” and “Kaeya” fellas, whatever those are. I heard somethin’ about “pre-relationship” somethin’ or other with them too. Kids and their romance, I tell ya!

They talk about “glitches” too. Like when the game messes up. My grandson, he gets so frustrated when that happens. He’ll yell at the screen, “It glitched again!” I tell him, “Maybe you should go outside and play.” But he just grumbles and keeps on playin’. They say these “glitches” happen because of some “outworldish interference”. Goodness me, what does that even mean?

Sometimes, they say this “reader” wakes up as someone called “Onigasaki.” Like they’re a whole different person in the game. It’s all very confusing. They say this Onigasaki has “knowledge of the game.” Like they know what’s gonna happen. Sounds like cheatin’ to me! She even got “hit-and-run” one time, my granddaughter said. Goodness gracious, these games are violent!

I try to keep up with what the kids are talkin’ about. But these games, they’re too much for this old woman. I’m used to playing checkers, maybe a little canasta. But this “Genshin Impact” thing, it is beyond me! But all those things about “ignoring” and getting their feelins’ hurt is just plain silly. You ought to talk things out, not ignore someone. That never solves nothin’. Those folks in the game ought to know better, even if they ain’t real. I think even those folks who are “crazy people” in the “fanbase” would agree, whatever that means.

Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about this whole “genshin impact x ignored reader” business. It’s a mystery to me, but as long as the grandkids are happy, I suppose it’s all right. Just wish they’d explain it to me in a way that makes sense! They keep sayin’ they have to “accept a bounty” to get some kind of “achievement”. These kids will be the death of me, I swear. Now, where’d I put my spectacles…?
