genshin impact cardigan
Okay, so, I’ve been totally hooked on this game called Genshin Impact lately. It’s this massive open-world thing, super pretty, and you get to run around with a bunch of different characters. It’s wild! Anyway, I started thinking, wouldn’t it be cool to have a cardigan that was like… Genshin-themed? So, I decided to give it a shot and make one myself. I am not a professional sewer, I just watched some video and started to try.
First, I searched for some inspiration online. I found a ton of fan art and official stuff, just to get a feel for the colors and symbols and stuff like that. I also started to think, how do I make the best cardigan with a limited budget? Then I sketched out a rough idea of what I wanted the cardigan to look like. I decided on a color scheme – maybe a blue base with gold accents and the color of the character, because those seem to pop up a lot in the game. I also found some picture of the characters and made the color base on it.
- Picked out a basic cardigan pattern. Nothing too fancy, just something I could work with and adjust.
- Went to the fabric store. This was an adventure in itself! Found this really nice, soft blue fabric for the main part of the cardigan.
- Also grabbed some gold trim and some cool buttons that looked kind of like the ones in the game, I guess.
Next up: cutting and sewing
I carefully cut out all the pieces according to the pattern. I pinned them together. I started sewing, following the instructions that came with the pattern. Honestly, it took a while. My sewing machine was being a little fussy, and I had to re-do some seams a few times. It was messy at first, but I tried my best. I made the cardigan a little bigger since I don’t like tight clothes.
I slowly sewed the main pieces together – the front, the back, the sleeves, the main structure. I tried it on a few times during this stage, just to make sure it was fitting okay. I decided to add some extra details, like the gold trim around the edges and some patches with symbols from the game. It took me another week to figure out how to sew the trim and button since they are my first time sewing those things.
Finally, after what felt like forever, I finished it! It wasn’t perfect, but it was mine, and I was pretty proud of it. When I put it on, I felt like I was ready to start a real adventure in the game. It was kind of dorky, but it made me happy. I wore it while playing Genshin Impact, and I started to feel like I am one of them. All in all, a fun little project, even if it was a bit of a struggle at times. Who knows, maybe I’ll tackle another game-inspired project next!
