Okay, so I’ve been playing Genshin Impact for a while now, and let me tell you, figuring out which weapons to use on which characters can be a real headache. Today, I was messing around with my Hu Tao, trying to find a good weapon for her, and I stumbled upon this 3-star weapon called the Black Tassel. I’ve seen it before, I mean, who hasn’t? It drops like candy. But I never really paid attention to it.

So, I started by checking the weapon’s stats. At level 90, it gives a pretty decent HP% substat. And since Hu Tao scales with HP, I was like, “Hmm, this could actually work!” Then i thought about it will work, then just tried to put it on Hu Tao, it does work!

My Experiment

I leveled the Black Tassel up to 90. It was pretty cheap, resource-wise, being a 3-star weapon and all. Then I compared it to some of my other polearms, like the Dragon’s Bane and even the Deathmatch, which I have.

• I equipped the Black Tassel on Hu Tao.
• I checked her stats, focusing on HP and damage output.
• I tested her in some Domains and against some bosses, just to get a feel for it.
• I then put those weapons on her.
• Checked stats and also tested.

Honestly, I was surprised! While it obviously didn’t outperform my 5-star weapons, the Black Tassel held its own, especially when I consider its a 3 star and easy to get . Hu Tao’s HP was significantly boosted, and her damage was still pretty respectable. It’s definitely a viable option, especially for free-to-play players or those who haven’t been lucky with weapon gacha pulls.

So, if you’re looking for a readily available weapon for your HP-scaling characters, don’t just throw away those Black Tassels! Give them a try, you might be surprised. You know? That’s what i discovered today.
