game of thrones 2nd edition strategy

This Game of Thrones thing, it’s a real head-scratcher, ain’t it? My grandkids, they’re all about it. They got this big board with all these little men and maps and stuff. They call it Game of Thrones 2nd Edition. They told me you gotta have a strategy, or you ain’t gonna win nothin’.

So, I watched ’em play. Seems like you gotta pick a family, they call ’em Houses. Each one’s got their own thing, like one’s good at fightin’, one’s good at talkin’, stuff like that. This is very important for your Game of Thrones 2nd Edition strategy.

Pickin’ Your Family

You gotta pick the right one, or you’re gonna be in a heap of trouble. It’s like pickin’ a good seed for plantin’. You want a strong one that’ll grow big. My grandson likes that Stark family, says they’re tough. They start up north where it is very cold. So this family should be your first choice. They’re good at holdin’ their ground.

  • Stark: They’re tough, good for startin’ out.
  • Greyjoy: They’re by the water, good at ships. They can go to the Bay of Ice, but you better tell them not to.
  • Lannister: They got all the gold, like them rich folks in town.
  • Baratheon: They got a big army, good for fightin’.
  • Tyrell: They got lots of food, like a good harvest.
  • Martell: They’re way down south, where it’s hot.

These little tokens, they call ’em power tokens. You gotta collect those things. They help you do stuff, like get more men, or move ’em around. It is very important to have power tokens. You need these to win.

Movin’ and Fightin’

You gotta move your little men around the board. It’s like sendin’ your boys out to work the fields. You gotta put ’em in the right place. These little men, they fight each other too. My grandkids, they make all these fightin’ noises when they play. You need to have a good plan, or your men are gonna get beat up.

There’s this thing called supply. You gotta have enough supply, or you can’t have too many men. It’s like feedin’ your chickens. You can’t have too many chickens if you ain’t got enough feed. You gotta plan this supply thing out real good. No supply, no army. This supply is also one of the basic Game of Thrones 2nd Edition strategy.

Talkin’ and Makin’ Friends

Sometimes, you gotta talk to the other players. You can make deals and stuff. Like, “I won’t attack you if you don’t attack me.” It’s like talkin’ to your neighbors. Sometimes you gotta work together to get things done. But don’t trust ’em too much. They might be lyin’ through their teeth. Especially that Greyjoy, don’t let him get to the Bay of Ice.

This one grandson, he’s real good at the talkin’ part. He can sweet-talk a bird out of a tree. He always makes these deals, and then he goes and does what he wants anyway. Sneaky little fella. But he’s winning, that’s what important.

Keepin’ an Eye on Things

You gotta pay attention to what everyone else is doin’. It’s like watchin’ the weather. You gotta know if a storm’s comin’. If someone’s gettin’ too strong, you might need to team up with someone else to stop ’em. Or maybe you just gotta get stronger yourself. You gotta stay one step ahead. Don’t let anyone sneak up on you. Always keep an eye on your power tokens and supply. These two are very important.

Startin’ Out Right

The first few moves, they’re real important. You gotta get a good start, or you’re gonna be playin’ catch-up the whole time. It’s like plantin’ season. You gotta get your seeds in the ground early, or they ain’t gonna grow right. You need some guys to get those power tokens. There is an island with these tokens, you better get a guy there. Those power tokens are good for you. And watch out for other players. You don’t want to get into a fight too soon. Get your supply up, get your power tokens, and get your men in good spots. Do this, and you will be good.

Just Playin’ the Game

This Game of Thrones 2nd Edition, it’s just a game. But it’s like life, in a way. You gotta plan, you gotta work hard, and sometimes you gotta be a little sneaky. And you gotta have a little luck, too. Just like plantin’ crops. You can do everything right, but if the weather don’t cooperate, you’re outta luck. If you want to win, remember power tokens, supply, and don’t let Greyjoy get to the Bay of Ice. That Greyjoy, always causing trouble.

I still don’t understand all the rules of this Game of Thrones thing. But I know this much: you gotta have a strategy. You can’t just go in there blind, or you’re gonna get stomped. You gotta think ahead, watch your back, and maybe tell a few lies along the way. That’s how you win at Game of Thrones, and that is a good Game of Thrones 2nd Edition strategy. And that’s how you win at life, too, I reckon. But don’t take my words for granted, I am just an old lady, I don’t know anything.
