game client crashing hardware issue
Okay, so, I gotta tell you about this mess I got myself into with my gaming rig. It was driving me nuts! Started a few weeks back, I was deep into my games, as usual, and boom – straight to desktop. No warning, no blue screen of death, nothing. Just, poof, game gone. But here’s the kicker, the desktop was chill, running like a dream. No signs of trouble there, so I was like, “What the heck?”
First thing I did, like any sane person would, was check for updates. You know, drivers, Windows, the whole shebang. Figured maybe there was some wonky bug causing havoc. Patched everything up, crossed my fingers, and dove back into the game. Nope, same deal. Crash-o-rama.
NVIDIA Debug Mode
Then, I remembered this thing called NVIDIA Debug Mode. It’s tucked away in the NVIDIA Control Panel, under the Help tab. What it does is, it sets your GPU back to the factory clock speeds. So, if you’ve been overclocking, this brings it back to normal. I thought, “Maybe my overclocking is messing things up.” Turned it on, fired up the game, and… still crashed.
Hardware Connection
At this point, I’m starting to think it’s the hardware, like maybe something’s loose. A buddy of mine told me sometimes just reseating the GPU – that’s taking it out and putting it back in – can fix weird issues. So, I popped open my PC, took out the GPU, gave it a good once-over, and carefully plugged it back in. Booted up, launched the game, held my breath, and… crash.
Run As Administrator
I was pulling my hair out! Then I stumbled on this forum where a guy said running the game launcher, you know, like Epic Games or Steam, as an administrator can sometimes bypass issues. It’s like giving it super user powers or something. I was skeptical, but hey, I was desperate. So I right-clicked on Steam, ran it as admin, launched the game and boom still crash.

After a whole day of trying everything, I found it’s the power supply that’s causing the problem, I bought a new one and replaced it. Finally, it works, I can play the game now. Man, what a day!
