fractal design pc games hardware
Okay, so, a few days ago, I started messing around with this whole “building a PC” thing. I’ve always been into gaming, but I’ve never actually built a computer from scratch. A friend of mine recommended Fractal Design cases, saying they’re pretty good and not too hard to work with. So, I thought, why not give it a shot? I mean, how hard could it be, right?
First things first, I went online and looked up Fractal Design. Their website has tons of different cases, it’s a bit overwhelming honestly. They had this one called “North” that looked super sleek, but I ended up going for something a bit smaller because, you know, I’m a newbie and didn’t want to bite off more than I could chew. There was one called the “Era 2” that caught my eye. It looked compact and had this cool, curvy design. Plus, some website called “LDLC” had it listed for like 59 euros, which seemed like a decent price.
So, I ordered the case, along with a bunch of other parts – motherboard, CPU, RAM, the whole shebang. When everything arrived, I cleared off my desk and laid everything out. It looked a bit intimidating, I won’t lie. But I found a few tutorials online. Fractal Design actually has some videos on their website, which was helpful, although some of the info seemed to be for a different section.
- Opened the case – this was pretty easy, just a few screws.
- Installed the motherboard – this was a bit trickier, had to make sure all the standoffs were in the right place.
- Put in the CPU and cooler – this was scary, I was worried about bending the pins, but it went in okay.
- Slotted in the RAM – this was super simple, just clicked right in.
- Added the graphics card – this was also easy, just slid it into the slot.
- Connected all the cables – this was the most confusing part, so many different wires!
After a few hours of fiddling around and double-checking everything, I finally got it all put together. The Fractal Design case actually made it easier than I expected. It had these removable roof sections, which made it easier to access everything.
The Moment of Truth
I plugged it in, pressed the power button, and… it booted up! I couldn’t believe it. I installed the operating system, downloaded some games, and everything worked perfectly. I was so stoked! The PC ran smoothly, and the games looked amazing. Plus the whole build was quiet, which is something I wanted.

Building a PC with a Fractal Design case was a fun experience. It was definitely challenging at times, but the end result was totally worth it. If a total beginner like me can do it, anyone can. The whole process was a bit messy and time consuming but it was really cool. I ended up with a sweet gaming rig, and I did it all myself! Now I am looking at adding more components. It is pretty fun!
