failed to connect to server genshin impact ps4

Okay, so the other day I was all hyped up to get some Genshin Impact action on my PS4. Turned on the console, launched the game, and BAM! Got hit with this annoying “failed to connect to server” message. Seriously, talk about a mood killer!

My first instinct? Panic. Okay, maybe not full-blown panic, but definitely frustration. I mean, I just wanted to chill and play! So, I did what anyone would do – I restarted the game. Nope, still the same error.

Next up, I thought, “Maybe it’s my internet?” I’m not exactly a tech wizard, but I know the basics. I went through the usual routine:

  • Checked my PS4’s network connection – seemed fine.
  • Restarted my router – the good old “turn it off and on again” trick.
  • Even checked if other devices were connecting to the internet properly – they were.

Still no luck. The error message kept staring back at me.

Time to dig a little deeper. I remembered some folks online mentioning DNS settings. I have no idea about those words. Anyway, I went into my PS4’s network settings and found the DNS part. I switched to Google’s Public DNS (I just googled, primary: 8.8.8.8 and secondary: 8.8.4.4). I’d heard that could sometimes help.

Fingers crossed, I restarted the game again… and… IT WORKED! Finally! I was so relieved, I almost did a little victory dance. I have no idea if this Google Public DNS is a good thing or not but at least it’s work!

So yeah, that’s my little adventure with the Genshin Impact server connection issue. It wasn’t exactly a smooth ride, but I managed to fix it, felt like a big accomplishment. My way to fix it may not be the best way, hopefully, it will help you too!
