evolve video game review
Well, let me tell ya about this here Evolve video game. It’s somethin’ else, that’s for sure. Folks call it a “cooperative/competitive survival shooter,” but I just call it a good ol’ monster hunt. You got four fellas teamin’ up as Hunters, and then there’s this one big fella, the Monster, causin’ all sorts of trouble.
Now, the game was made by them Turtle Rock fellas. They’re the same ones who made that Left 4 Dead game a while back. This Evolve thing, it’s like a whole new kettle of fish, though. It came out way back in 2015, but it still gets folks talkin’.
The whole point of the game is to hunt down this Monster before it gets too big and mean. The Hunters, they gotta work together, trackin’ the Monster and settin’ traps. The Monster, though, it’s gotta eat and evolve, gettin’ stronger and meaner. It’s like watchin’ a chicken grow, but way more scary.
You got different kinds of Hunters, each with their own special somethin’. You got the trapper, the medic, the support, and the assault. They gotta use all their tricks to bring down the Monster. And the Monster, well, it’s got different kinds too, each one with its own way of fightin’.
- The Trapper: This fella’s good at findin’ the Monster and keepin’ it from runnin’ away.
- The Medic: Keeps everyone alive, patchin’ ’em up when the Monster gets a good swipe in.
- The Support: Helps the team with shields and extra firepower.
- The Assault: The heavy hitter, dishin’ out the most damage.
It ain’t no quick game, mind you. If you just wanna get through it, it might take ya four or five hours. But if you wanna see everything, do everything, you could be playin’ for sixty hours or more. That’s a lot of huntin’!

The game makes you feel like you’re really there, trackin’ that Monster through the mud and the trees. The sound of it stompin’ around, the roar it lets out when it’s angry… it’ll make the hair on your neck stand up, I tell ya. It’s like a thunderstorm brewin’, only the storm is a big, ugly beast tryin’ to stomp ya flat.
Some folks say it’s too complicated, too much goin’ on. But I say, that’s what makes it fun. You gotta think, you gotta work with your team, you gotta be smart. It ain’t just about pointin’ and shootin’.
Now, I ain’t played too many of them newfangled video games, but this Evolve one, it got me hooked. It’s excitin’, it’s scary, and it makes you feel like you’re part of somethin’ bigger than yourself. It’s like a good huntin’ trip with your buddies, only way more dangerous.
And the way that Monster evolves, gettin’ bigger and stronger, it’s somethin’ else. You start out huntin’ this little critter, and before you know it, you’re facin’ off against a giant beast that can smash rocks and trees like they’re nothin’. It keeps you on your toes, that’s for sure.
Overall, I reckon Evolve is a darn good game. It ain’t perfect, mind you, but what is? It’s got action, it’s got strategy, and it’s got plenty of that good ol’ monster huntin’ fun. If you like workin’ with your friends and takin’ down big, mean critters, then you’ll probably like this here game. Just be ready for a fight, cause that Monster ain’t gonna go down easy.
So, if you got some time on your hands and you’re lookin’ for a game that’ll keep ya entertained, give Evolve a try. Just remember to stick with your team, watch your back, and keep your powder dry. You’re gonna need it.
