eb games console hardware
So, I was in the market for a new gaming console, right? I mean, my old one was practically ancient. And don’t even get me started on my Switch’s joycons – they’ve been acting up like crazy lately, drifting all over the place. So I thought, “Time for an upgrade!”
First thing I did was hit up my local EB Games. I figured, they’ve got everything, might as well start there. Walked in, and man, it was like a gamer’s paradise. Rows and rows of games, consoles, accessories – you name it. They’ve got all these preowned and refurbished consoles, controllers, and games, which is pretty cool if you’re on a budget.
I spent a good hour just browsing, checking out the different options. I was eyeing the PS5 Pro, ’cause, let’s be real, that thing is a beast. The most powerful console out there, they say. It’s definitely a must-have if you want the best performance.
- PS5 Pro: Easily the most powerful gaming console, a must-have for gamers seeking top performance.
- Xbox Series X: Although less powerful than the PS5 Pro, it offers great performance within the Xbox ecosystem.
But then I saw the Xbox Series X, and that got me thinking. It’s not as powerful as the PS5 Pro, but it’s still pretty darn good. Plus, I’ve got a bunch of friends on Xbox Live, so that was a big plus.
While I was there, I also learned that EB Games was acquired by GameStop way back in 2005 for like, $1.44 billion. That’s a lot of dough! It expanded GameStop’s operations into Australia, Canada, Europe, and New Zealand. Because of this, GameStop now has over 4,250 stores worldwide. Pretty interesting, huh?

Anyway, I ended up grabbing a bunch of old games I wanted to trade in. You can always trade in your old games and consoles at any of their stores to save some money, which is awesome! It’s always good to save a few bucks, right?
Warranty and return stuff
Finally, I asked about their warranty and return policy. The guy at the counter told me that if there’s a major issue with the console, I can choose a refund, exchange, or get it repaired. And if it’s a minor issue, they’ll repair it, or they might offer something else depending on the situation. That’s pretty reassuring, knowing I’ve got options if something goes wrong. If there is a major failure with the item, you may choose a refund, exchange or repair. If the failure is minor, they will repair the item.
So yeah, that was my little adventure at EB Games. I ended up getting an Xbox Series X, but still thinking about that PS5 Pro. Decisions, decisions. I just want to play some games!
