drawn to life game review
Alright, let’s talk about this Drawn to Life game, you know, the one where you get to draw stuff. I ain’t no fancy gamer or nothin’, but I played it, and I got some things to say.
First off, this game, it’s like you’re makin’ your own cartoon, ya hear? You draw your own little fella, and he runs around and jumps and stuff. You draw his weapons, his tools, even the ground he walks on! It’s kinda neat, I gotta admit. Reminds me of when I used to draw stick figures in the dirt with my kids, only this time, them stick figures move and fight!
- It’s got action, yeah, like fightin’ bad guys and jumpin’ over stuff.
- And puzzles, you know, those brain teasers that make you scratch your head. Some are easy, some are hard, like tryin’ to figure out why the rooster ain’t crowin’ in the mornin’.
- And it’s a platformer, which means lots of jumpin’ and climbin’. Reminds me of tryin’ to get them apples off the top branches of the tree.
The story? Well, it’s somethin’ about savin’ the world and bringin’ color back, or somethin’ like that. To be honest, I kinda skipped through some of them talky bits. I just wanted to get to the drawin’ and the jumpin’, ya know? But it’s cute, I guess, in a kid-friendly kinda way.
Now, about the drawin’ part. It ain’t easy, let me tell ya. Especially if you got hands like mine, all knobby and stiff from years of workin’ the land. But you don’t gotta be no Picasso to play this game. Even my little grandson, who can barely hold a pencil, managed to draw somethin’ that looked like a lumpy potato with legs, and it worked just fine! The game ain’t too picky about how good your drawin’s are, which is good news for folks like me.
They say some big company made this game, 5th Cell somethin’ or other, and then some other company, THQ, put it out for folks to play. Later on, another bunch, 505 Games, they took it over. Sounds like a whole lotta fuss for a game about drawin’ stick figures, but hey, what do I know? I just play ’em.

I heard tell this game came out a while back, then they made more of ’em, like sequels, I think they call ’em. They even put it on different thingamajigs, not just the one I played it on. So, if you like this kinda thing, there’s plenty more where that came from, I reckon.
Is it a good game? Well, it ain’t gonna change your life or nothin’, but it’s fun. It’s like sittin’ on the porch swing on a summer afternoon, kinda peaceful and enjoyable. It’s somethin’ different, you know? Not like all them shoot-em-up games my grandkids play. This one makes you use your brain a little, and your imagination a lot.
If you got kids, or grandkids, or if you just like to doodle and you want a game that ain’t too hard and ain’t too violent, then give Drawn to Life a try. You might just like it. And if you don’t, well, you ain’t lost nothin’ but a little bit of time. And time, well, that’s somethin’ we all got plenty of, ain’t we?
One more thing, don’t expect no fancy graphics or nothin’. It’s cartoony, like I said, but that’s part of its charm. It’s like them old cartoons they used to show on TV, simple but sweet. And that’s just fine by me.
So, there you have it. My two cents on Drawn to Life. Go play it, don’t play it, it’s up to you. But if you do, and you draw somethin’ funny, send me a picture, ya hear? I could use a good laugh.
