deadpool game ps4 review
Well now, let me tell ya ’bout this Deadpool game on the PS4. I heard folks say it’s funny, and I reckon it is, a little bit. But there’s somethin’ about it that don’t sit right with me. First off, the whole game feels like it’s tryna do too many things at once, but don’t quite pull it off. It’s got this hack-and-slash style, you know, where you go around slicin’ up enemies and shootin’ ’em, but it don’t make you feel all that good doin’ it.
Now, don’t get me wrong, the game’s got some funny bits, yeah. Deadpool himself, he’s got a mouth on him, always crackin’ jokes and talkin’ back to himself. Some of them jokes will make ya chuckle. But after a while, you start thinkin’, “Well, ain’t there more to this game than just him runnin’ his mouth all the time?” And the more I played, the more it felt like the same thing over and over again. You fight some bad guys, you hear Deadpool crackin’ wise, then you fight some more bad guys. It gets old mighty quick.
The story, well, it’s there, but it ain’t gonna win any awards. Deadpool’s runnin’ around doin’ his usual thing, causin’ chaos and tryin’ to save the day in his own twisted way. It don’t have a lot of depth to it, but I suppose it does what it needs to. If you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to keep your attention for a while, this might just get the job done.
But let’s talk about the gameplay for a minute. The combat’s simple, which ain’t always a bad thing. But, honey, sometimes it feels like you’re just pressin’ buttons without much thought. It’s like makin’ a big ol’ pot of stew—just throwin’ in whatever and hopin’ it turns out alright. You’ll be swingin’ swords and shootin’ guns, but it all feels a little too easy, like there ain’t no real challenge. I mean, where’s the thrill in that? Feels more like somethin’ to kill time rather than somethin’ that’ll get your heart racin’.
And then there’s the graphics. Now, I ain’t sayin’ they’re awful, but they sure ain’t nothin’ to write home about either. The characters look decent, but the environments? Well, they don’t exactly knock your socks off. It’s like somebody tried to dress up an old farm in a fancy way, but you can still tell it’s just a barn. The camera, well, bless its heart, it don’t always do what you want it to. Sometimes it gets all up in your business when you’re tryna see what’s ahead, and other times, it don’t show you enough when you’re in the middle of a fight.

So, is it all bad? Not really. Like I said, it’s a bit funny, and there’s some fun to be had with the combat, but it’s the kind of fun that don’t last long. I reckon folks who like these hack-and-slash games might find somethin’ to enjoy here, but if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ deep and challengin’, this one might leave you wantin’ more.
Now, don’t go expectin’ too much. If you like Deadpool’s humor and you’re okay with the easy fights, you might get a kick outta it. But if you’re after a game that really gets your heart pumpin’, well, maybe keep lookin’.
Pros:
- Deadpool’s humor can be a real hoot.
- Easy to pick up and play, no need to overthink things.
- Combat can be fun for a little while.
Cons:
- The gameplay gets repetitive quick.
- The graphics and camera don’t always impress.
- Not much challenge to the fights.
So, there ya go. Ain’t a perfect game by any means, but if you just want somethin’ to pass the time and have a few laughs, Deadpool on the PS4 might be worth a try.
