Well, howdy there! Let’s yak a bit about them big video game thingamajigs that come out in 2016. You know, them game boxes and such. It was a pretty big year for ’em, lots of new stuff to play with.

Them PlayStations and Xboxes Got Upgrades

Sony and Microsoft, them big companies, they didn’t just sit around twiddlin’ their thumbs. Nah, they spruced up their PlayStations and Xboxes. We got this PlayStation 4 Pro, which was supposed to be real fancy, and a slimmer version called the PlayStation 4 Slim. And over at Xbox, they had this Xbox One S. Not totally new, mind you, but kinda like when you get your old car fixed up and put in some new parts.

Lots of New Games, Like Always

Now, what’s a game box without games, right? 2016 was chock-full of ’em. Seemed like every month somethin’ new was comin’ out. January used to be quiet, but not no more! They had all sorts of games, shootin’ games, adventurin’ games, even some with ladies you could play as, like in that Mirror’s Edge thing and that Dishonored 2. Heard tell there were hundreds of games you could get for all them different boxes.

Nintendo Was Tryin’ to Get Back on Top

Nintendo, bless their hearts, they had a rough time with that Wii U thing. 2016 was supposed to be their comeback year. They needed a win, bad. Don’t rightly remember if they got it that year, but they were sure tryin’. They always got them Mario fellers and Zelda gals, so they always got somethin’ goin’ for ’em.

October Was a Big Month

Seemed like October was when all the big games came out. Every year it’s like that, folks savin’ up their money for the holidays and all. Lots of lists out there tellin’ you what games were comin’, so you could plan ahead and not spend all your money at once. Smart folks did that, anyway.

Keepin’ Track of All Them Games

It’s hard to keep up with all them games, you know? So many comin’ out all the time. Websites and such, they try to help you out, makin’ lists and calendars and such. Good for them youngsters who got all the time in the world to play. Me, I gotta get my chores done first.

Games with Girl Power

Now, somethin’ I did notice, more games lettin’ you play as girls. That’s a good thing, I reckon. Like I said, that Mirror’s Edge and Dishonored 2, they had gals you could play. And some others too, can’t rightly remember the names. But it’s good to see, girls can do anything boys can do, even in them video games.

What Happened After 2016?

Well, after 2016, things kept on chuggin’ along. Next year, in 2017, Nintendo finally came out with that Switch thing, and folks seemed to like it a whole lot better than that Wii U. Sold like hotcakes, they did. But that’s a story for another day.
