best strategy games on ps5

Alright, listen up, y’all. We gonna talk ’bout them PlayStation 5 games, the ones where ya gotta use yer brain a bit, not just shootin’ and hollerin’ all the time. They call ’em “strategy” games, like checkers but fancier, I reckon.

Now, I ain’t no fancy gamer, mind you. I just like a good game that makes me think, ya know? Somethin’ that ain’t just button mashin’. And let me tell ya, this here PS5 got some good ones, even if them computer folks say the PC is where it’s at for this kinda stuff. We ain’t all got them fancy computers, ya hear?

First off, they got this game, “Tactics Ogre: Reborn”. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Well, it’s kinda like chess, but with more magic and swords and such. You gotta move yer little fellers around the map, thinkin’ ahead, tryin’ to outsmart the other fella. It ain’t easy, but it sure is satisfyin’ when you win. It ain’t new, they brought it back or somethin’, like them old dresses they sell in the stores now, callin’ it “vintage”. Hmph.

Then there’s this “Baldur’s Gate 3”. Now, this one’s a real doozy. It came out last August, I think. Big and complicated, lots of talkin’ and choosin’. You gotta make yer own character and go on a big adventure, makin’ friends and enemies along the way. It’s like readin’ a book, but you get to decide what happens, which is more fun than readin’ if you ask me. My grandson, he plays it all the time, says it’s got all kinds of ways to play, so you can do it over and over and it’s different each time. Sounds like a good deal to me.

And don’t forget about them “XCOM” games. They’re all about fightin’ aliens, but it ain’t just runnin’ and gunnin’. You gotta plan yer moves, set up yer defenses, and make sure yer soldiers don’t get themselves killed. It’s tough, real tough, but that’s what makes it so good. Makes you feel like a real general, even if you’re just sittin’ on yer couch in yer pajamas.

• Now, some other games they talk about… “Crusader Kings III”, that one’s about kings and queens and such. Sounds complicated.
• And then there’s “Offworld Trading Company”. Guess that’s about tradin’ stuff on Mars or somethin’. Don’t know much about that one.
• “XCOM 2”, well, we already talked about them XCOM fellers.
• “Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak” Sounds like spaceships and deserts. Could be interesting.
• “Total War: Warhammer II” War! Lots of fightin’ in that one, I bet.
• “Civilization VI” Buildin’ cities and empires and such. My nephew likes that one.
• “Company of Heroes 2: Ardennes Assault” More war games! Them boys sure do like their fightin’ games.
• “Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2” Another one with fightin’ and commands. Gotta be smart for these ones.

Folks say “God of War Ragnarok” is the best game on the PS5, but that ain’t really a strategy game, ya know? It’s more of a hack-and-slash, beat-em-up kinda thing. Fun, but not the same.

So, there ya have it. A few of them strategy games on the PS5. If you wanna use yer brain a little, give ’em a try. Just don’t blame me if you get stuck! And don’t be stayin’ up all night playin’ them things, ya hear? You need yer rest.

Now, go on and have yerself some fun. But remember, it’s just a game. Don’t go gettin’ too worked up about it. Life’s too short for that.
