best strategy games for snes
[Body]
Alright, let’s yak about them best strategy games for the SNES, you know, that old game box? My grandkids, they love them video games, always yappin’ about ’em. So I asked ’em, “What’s good on that old Super Nintendo thingy?” And they told me a whole bunch, so I’m gonna tell you, but in my own way, ya hear?
First off, they said somethin’ ’bout Ogre Battle. Sounded real fancy, like some kinda war thing. Said it’s got this “March of the Black Queen” part. Queens and battles, huh? Reminds me of them soap operas on the TV, all that drama. But this ain’t no soap opera, this is a game where you move your little army guys around, makin’ plans and such. My grandkids said it’s real deep, lots of thinkin’ involved. Not like them shoot-em-up games where you just run around like a headless chicken.
Then there’s this Civilization game. Now, I know about civilization! I built my own darn civilization right here, raisin’ my kids and grandkids, workin’ the land. But this game, it’s about buildin’ a whole country from scratch, from way back when. You gotta make decisions, like where to build your cities, what kinda crops to grow, and who to fight with. My grandkids said it’s like playin’ God, but I told ’em, “Don’t go gettin’ no big head now!”
They also mentioned some other games, but I can’t remember all them fancy names. One was about robots, big ol’ stompy robots. And another one was about fantasy creatures, like dragons and elves and such. Sounded like a whole lot of hocus pocus to me, but the kids seemed to like it. They talked about formations and magic spells. I told ’em, “Back in my day, the only magic was gettin’ dinner on the table!”

- Thinkin’ is key: These ain’t no games for dummies. You gotta use your brain, plan ahead, and make smart choices. Like plantin’ corn, you gotta do it right or you ain’t gonna get no food.
- Lots of different stuff: There’s games about war, games about buildin’ cities, games about robots, games about magic… Somethin’ for everyone, I guess. Just like a potluck dinner, you got all sorts of dishes.
- Old but good: These games might be old, but they’re still fun. Just like them old country songs, they never get old. My husband used to love them.
Now, I ain’t no gamer, that’s for sure. I prefer sittin’ on the porch, sippin’ sweet tea, and watchin’ the birds. But from what the grandkids tell me, these SNES strategy games are somethin’ special. They make you think, they challenge you, and they keep you entertained for hours. So if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ more than just shootin’ and jumpin’, maybe give ’em a try. Just don’t blame me if you get hooked, ’cause I warned ya!
And listen, them kids also mentioned somethin’ ’bout Nintendo not makin’ that SNES thingy no more, stopped way back in ’99, they said. Two years after some Kirby game came out. Don’t know no Kirby, sounds like some kinda vacuum cleaner salesman to me. But I guess that makes them games even more special, like a piece of history, right? Like them old quilts my grandma made, can’t find nothin’ like ’em no more.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about them best strategy games on the SNES. If you wanna know more, go ask them kids. They know all the fancy lingo. Me, I’m just an old woman who likes her peace and quiet. But even I can see that these games got somethin’ to ’em. So go on, give ’em a whirl. And don’t forget to eat your vegetables!
One more thing, my grandson told me there’s this new game thing called a “Switch”. Sounds like somethin’ you use to turn on the lights, but he says it’s got new games, even strategy ones. And you can play with your friends, side-by-side, on the couch! Imagine that! Now they have somethin’ called “Black Friday” deals. Sounds like a sale to me. Maybe I’ll have him get me one of them “Switches” so I can see what all the fuss is about. But I bet it still won’t be as good as a good ol’ fashioned game of checkers, you know?
So there you have it, from an old timer’s perspective, a rundown of some good strategy games. Remember, thinkin’ is good for you, even if it’s just in a game. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper.
