best selling video game hardware
Alright, let’s gab about these game thingies, the ones the young’uns are always glued to. I hear they sell like hotcakes, some of ’em. Folks keep sayin’ this one and that one is the best, so I figured, let’s see what the fuss is all about. Don’t expect no fancy talk from me, I’m just gonna tell it like it is, plain and simple.
The Big Winners
Now, the big boss of ’em all, they say, is this PlayStation 2. That’s a mouthful, ain’t it? Anyways, they sold a whole heap of them, like, 160 million or somethin’. That’s more folks than I seen at the county fair, I tell ya! Must be pretty good if that many folks bought it.
Then there’s this Nintendo Switch. That one’s kinda new, but boy, it’s catchin’ up fast. Heard they sold over 146 million of them. It’s one of them newfangled things that you can play on the TV or take with ya. Handy, I guess, if you gotta go milk the cows but still wanna play your game.
And don’t forget the PlayStation 5. It ain’t sold as much as the Switch yet, still behind by a good bit, but folks seem to like it. It’s got all the fancy graphics, they say. Makes things look real pretty, I reckon. They got two kinds, one with a place to stick them disc thingies in, and one without. The one with the disc thingy lets you watch movies too, which is nice, I guess, if you ain’t got nothin’ better to do.

- PlayStation 2: Sold a whole bunch, like 160 million. Real popular, I guess.
- Nintendo Switch: Newer one, but sellin’ fast. Over 146 million sold. You can take it with ya, which is kinda neat.
- PlayStation 5: Pretty new, fancy graphics. Two kinds, one for discs, one without. The disc one can play movies too.
Other Game Boxes
There’s other ones too, like this Xbox thing. They got two kinds of them too, the Series X and the Series S. The X is the fancy one, for them 4K TVs. Got a place for discs too, if you’re into that kinda thing. The S is cheaper, but it ain’t as fancy. No disc thingy on that one.
And then there’s all them older ones. Game Boy, they called it. Little thing you could hold in your hand. Sold a bunch of them back in the day. And the DS, another little one. And the 3DS, which I guess is like the DS but with extra stuff. They all sold a lot, specially in different places around the world.
So, Which One’s the Best?
Well, that depends on what you want, I reckon. If you want the one that sold the most, that’d be the PlayStation 2. If you want somethin’ new and fancy, maybe the Switch or the PS5. If you got a 4K TV and want the best picture, maybe the Xbox Series X. And if you just want somethin’ cheap and simple, maybe the Xbox Series S.
Me? I don’t know nothin’ ’bout these games. I’d rather be out in the garden, or maybe watchin’ the birds. But if you’re into this kinda thing, well, there’s plenty to choose from, that’s for sure. Just don’t spend all your time starin’ at that screen, ya hear? Go outside and get some fresh air once in a while.
Honestly, I think all these young folks with their video games are a bit silly. Back in my day, we entertained ourselves just fine without all these fancy gadgets. But hey, times change, I guess. Just remember, there’s more to life than staring at a screen all day.
At the end of the day, it is your money, and you are free to do with it as you please. Whether you choose a console with a disc drive or a digital version is entirely up to your own personal preference. As for me, I’ll stick to my old-fashioned ways, thank you very much.

And that’s all I gotta say about that. Hope it helped ya some.
