best mobile strategy games 2023

Alright, let’s gab about them phone games, the ones they call “strategy,” you know, the thinkin’ kind. Not like them candy crush things, them are for kids. We’re talkin’ ’bout games that make you scratch your head, like when you’re tryin’ to figure out why the rooster ain’t crowin’. So, these young folks, they say 2023 had some good ones, real good ones.

Now, I ain’t no expert, but I heard tell of some games that sound pretty darn clever. One’s called “Civilization 6.” Sounds fancy, huh? They say it’s like buildin’ your own little town, but bigger, like a whole country! You gotta plan things out, make sure you got enough food, and them little soldier fellas to keep ya safe. It’s like farmin’, but with more fightin’, I reckon.

Then there’s this “ROME: Total War.” Now that one sounds like a real ruckus! Big armies clashin’, just like them stories they tell in church, ‘cept this time you get to tell them fellas where to go. It’s probably got them horses and chariots and all that, just like in the pictures. I bet it’s a real sight to see, all them little guys movin’ around on your phone screen, like ants on a sugar pile.

• And let’s not forget “Tropico.” This one’s a bit different. You’re like the boss of a whole island! You gotta keep your people happy, build houses and stuff, make sure nobody’s causin’ trouble. It’s like runnin’ a big ol’ farm, but with more people and less cows.
• Then there’s “Rusted Warfare.” That sounds like somethin’ my old tractor would enjoy! It’s probably got them tanks and guns, all that loud bangin’ stuff. I ain’t too keen on the fightin’, but some folks like it, I guess.

Another one they talk about is “Into the Breach“. This one, from what I gather, is about fightin’ them giant bug things. Sounds like a nightmare, if you ask me. But I guess it’s fun for some. You gotta use your brain, plan your moves, and try not to get squished.

And there’s more! “Tyrant’s Blessing“, “Bloons TD 6“, “Northgard“… So many names, I can barely keep up! “Auto Chess“, that sounds like somethin’ my grandpappy woulda played, if they had phones back then. And “Crying Suns” and “Rebel Inc.“… They just keep comin’! It’s like a whole market of games, just waitin’ for you to pick ’em up.

Some of these games, they’re like them old train sets, you know? Like that “Sid Meier’s Railroads” they talk about. You gotta build tracks, manage trains, make sure everything runs on time. It’s like plantin’ crops, but with steel and steam instead of dirt and seeds. They say it’s a good one, makes you feel like you’re really runnin’ somethin’ big. And they even got some new ones comin’ out all the time, like “Warbits+“, which is supposed to be like them old board games, but on your phone. So you can play checkers or chess or whatever they got, right there in your hand. It’s like havin’ a whole game room in your pocket.

Now, I ain’t played none of these myself. My eyes ain’t what they used to be, and my fingers are too stiff for all that tappin’. But from what I hear, these young folks, they love ’em. They say it’s a good way to pass the time, keep your mind sharp, and maybe even learn a thing or two. So if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do on them long winter nights, or when you’re waitin’ for the bus, maybe give one of these strategy games a try. Just don’t blame me if you get hooked!
