Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about them best Android games from back in 2018, ya hear? Some folks over at Tom’s Hardware, whoever they are, they went and looked at a whole bunch of games. Like, a whole heap of ’em. They said somethin’ ’bout lookin’ at over 120 games, can ya believe that? Then they whittled it down to just 20. Twenty! That’s still a lot, ain’t it?

So, what’s the big deal about these games? Well, I reckon they gotta be good, real good. Them Tom’s Hardware folks, they say they look at three things. First thing is, it gotta be made real well. You know, like, it can’t be all glitchy and whatnot. It gotta work right. They called it somethin’ fancy, somethin’ like “technical quality.” Sounds like city-folk talk to me.

Second thing, they say the game gotta be fun to play. Well, duh! Who wants a game that ain’t fun? That’s like eatin’ a biscuit that tastes like dirt. They called it “playability,” whatever that means. Just gotta be fun, that’s all I care about.

  • Technical quality – gotta be made good
  • Playability – gotta be fun
  • Lasting appeal – gotta keep ya comin’ back for more

And the last thing, they say the game gotta keep ya playin’. You know, it can’t be one of them games you play once and then forget about. It gotta have somethin’ to make ya wanna keep playin’ it. They called that “lasting appeal.” I guess that means it gotta be good enough to make ya play it over and over again.

Now, them Tom’s Hardware folks, they picked out five games they thought was the best from 2018. Five! I can barely remember what I had for supper last night, let alone five games from years ago. But they said one of ’em was somethin’ called PUBG Mobile. Sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me. But I heard the young’uns talkin’ ’bout it. Somethin’ about shootin’ and fightin’ on an island. Sounds like a ruckus to me.

Another game they talked about was somethin’ called Florence. That don’t sound like no shootin’ game. I reckon it’s one of them story games. You know, the kind where you just tap the screen and things happen. My grandbaby, she likes them kinda games. She says it’s like readin’ a book, but with pictures and music. Kids these days, I tell ya.

They mentioned some other games too, but I can’t rightly remember what they was called. Somethin’ ’bout gods and wars, and somethin’ ’bout tennis. Tennis? On a phone? What’ll they think of next? Back in my day, we played tennis with real rackets and balls, not on no fancy phone screens. But I guess times change, huh?

Now, talkin’ ’bout them older games, they mentioned somethin’ ’bout Game Boy Advance games. Said they was better than them old Game Boy games. I remember them Game Boys. Little brick things with them tiny screens. My nephew had one. He used to play it all the time. Said it was fun. I never got the hang of it, though. Too many buttons.

But they say them Game Boy Advance games was different. Easier to pick up and play, they said. And they mentioned some games, like Advance Wars and Fire Emblem. Never heard of ’em. But I guess they was good, if folks are still talkin’ ’bout ’em.

Anyways, that’s what them Tom’s Hardware folks had to say ’bout them best Android games from 2018. I don’t know nothin’ ’bout them fancy phone games, but I reckon if folks are playin’ ’em, they must be alright. Me, I’d rather be out in the garden, tendin’ to my tomatoes. But to each their own, I always say. You young folks go on and play your games. Just don’t forget to come up for air once in a while, ya hear?

So if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to play on that phone of yours, maybe give them 2018 games a try. Who knows, you might find somethin’ you like. And if you don’t, well, there’s always plenty of other games out there. Enough games to keep ya busy ’til the cows come home, that’s for sure.

And that’s all I got to say about that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on them chickens. They’ve been awfully quiet lately, and that usually means trouble.
