ark survival game review

Alright, alright, lemme tell ya ’bout this here Ark Survival game. My grandson, he’s always yappin’ ’bout it, so I figured, why not give it a whirl? Now, I ain’t no fancy gamer or nothin’, but I know what I like, and this game, well, it’s somethin’ else.

First off, you start with nothin’, just your bare behind on some kinda island with these big ol’ lizards runnin’ around. Dinosaurs, they call ’em. Scary lookin’ things, some of ’em. You gotta hustle, find food, water, make some clothes. Reminds me of the old days, ‘cept we didn’t have no dinosaurs back then, just ornery cows and chickens.

The whole thing is about survivin’, see? You gotta build a shelter, a place to keep warm and safe from them beasties. You chop down trees, gather stones, and build a little shack. Then you make it bigger, better. You start feelin’ like a real homesteader, ‘cept you’re doin’ it with dinosaurs breathin’ down your neck.

And speakin’ of dinosaurs, you can tame ’em! Yeah, you heard that right. You can make ’em your pets, ride ’em around, even use ’em to fight for ya. My grandson showed me how to feed ’em berries and meat, and pretty soon, I had a whole pack of ’em followin’ me around. Felt like a queen, I tell ya, ridin’ on the back of a big ol’ triceratops.

But it ain’t all sunshine and roses. Them dinosaurs, they ain’t always friendly. And there’s other folks on the island too, and some of ’em are meaner than a snake in a hen house. They’ll steal your stuff, kill your dinos, and make your life miserable. You gotta be tough, gotta fight back. Or you can hide, that works too. I ain’t too proud to hide, let me tell ya.

There’s a whole bunch of stuff to craft, too. Weapons, tools, saddles for your dinos, all sorts of things. My grandson, he’s always buildin’ fancy contraptions, but I stick to the basics. A good spear and a sturdy bow, that’s all I need. And a good roof over my head, of course. Can’t forget that.

• Buildin’ stuff: You gotta build a place to live, or you’ll be sleepin’ with the dinosaurs. And nobody wants that.
• Tamin’ dinos: Who wouldn’t want a pet dinosaur? They’re big, they’re strong, and they can carry all your stuff.
• Fightin’ for your life: Them dinosaurs and other players, they ain’t gonna leave you alone. You gotta fight back, or you won’t last long.
• Explorin’ the island: The island is huge, and there’s all sorts of things to find. Caves, mountains, rivers, you name it.

Now, some folks say this game is better with other people, but I like playin’ it by myself. I can take my time, do things my own way. Don’t gotta worry ’bout nobody else bossin’ me around. It’s just me and my dinosaurs, against the world. And that’s just how I like it. Like back in my day, workin the fields, just me and the land. Peaceful like.

Ark: Survival Evolved, they call it. It’s a mouthful, ain’t it? But it’s a fun game, I gotta say. Even for an old lady like me. It’s got its ups and downs, its challenges and rewards. But that’s life, ain’t it? You just gotta keep on keepin’ on, fightin’ for your place in the world. Or on the island, in this case.

The graphics, they’re somethin’ else. The water, it looks real, and the dinosaurs, they move just like you’d expect. Well, I ain’t never seen a real dinosaur, but they look real enough to me. My grandson says it’s open world, whatever that means. Seems big enough, I reckon. You can go anywhere, do anything. It’s kinda like being a kid again, exploring the woods behind the house. ‘Cept the woods got dinosaurs.

So, if you’re lookin’ for a game that’ll keep you on your toes, a game that’ll challenge you and reward you, a game that’ll let you ride a dinosaur, well, then you might wanna give Ark a try. Just don’t blame me if you get eaten by a T-Rex. That ain’t my fault.

Overall, it ain’t a bad game. Keeps you busy, that’s for sure. And it’s kinda fun, tamein’ them dinosaurs and buildin’ stuff. Reminds me of the old days, when you had to work hard for everything you got. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed my raptors.
