nintendo switch strategy games
Well now, if you’re lookin’ to play them strategy games on your Nintendo Switch, you’ve come to the right place. You know, them games that make you think real hard ‘bout every move ya make. Ya got to be quick with your decisions, but also careful, ‘cause one wrong move and it could be the end of yer game. But don’t worry, I’ll tell ya ‘bout some of the best ones, so you can spend your time right.
First off, ya gotta start with Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Now this here game, it’s like a big ol’ feast for your brain. You gotta train yer students, build relationships, and fight in big ol’ battles. There’s a lot of talkin’ and thinkin’, and not just winnin’ battles. You gotta make choices that affect the whole story. That’s what makes it real special. It’s like watchin’ a soap opera, but you’re the one who gets to pick what happens next. So, if ya like them kind of games, where you gotta plan out each step, this one’s for you.
Another good one is Fire Emblem Engage. Now this game is like the younger cousin of Three Houses, but don’t let that fool ya – it’s just as good, if not better! You got all them heroes from past Fire Emblem games comin’ together to help ya in your quest. And them battles? They’re real fun, with a lot of strategy goin’ on. You gotta think ‘bout your placements, what units to use, and how to outsmart them enemies. It’s not just about smashin’ buttons, no sir! It’s ‘bout smart decisions and takin’ your time. Ya don’t wanna rush through this one, trust me.
- Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp – This one here’s got tanks, helicopters, and all them good ol’ military strategy tactics. It’s a bit simpler than the others, but still mighty fine for them that like to plan ahead. It’s been a long time since this game was out, but now you can play it on the Switch, so go ahead and give it a shot.
- 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim – Now this game, it’s a little different. It’s got them mechs and a whole lotta futuristic stuff, but you still gotta use your head to make it through. It’s got a good story too, and I know some of ya like them games that make ya think with all them plot twists. It’s got both real-time and turn-based strategy, so it’s kinda like mixin’ a little bit of everything.
- Tactics Ogre: Reborn – Oh, and don’t forget ‘bout Tactics Ogre. It’s a bit of a classic, and it’s been redone for the Switch. You get to control a whole army, and each choice you make changes how things go down. It’s a deep one, so if you’re the type to get lost in a game for hours, this one might just be the right fit.
If you’re into somethin’ with a little more action, you might like Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. It’s not your usual turn-based game, no sir, but it’s still got that Fire Emblem feel. You run around smashin’ enemies and keepin’ your army together. It’s fast-paced, but there’s still a lotta strategy behind how ya handle the big fights. And don’t worry, you won’t be doin’ it all alone. You’ve got your team right by your side, so you’ll need to plan just how to beat them bigger enemies. Ain’t no use rushin’ in without thinkin’ first!
Now, if you want somethin’ that takes ya back to the ol’ days, there’s Herzog Zwei. It’s a bit different from the rest ‘cause it’s more of a real-time strategy, but I tell ya, it’s a lotta fun. This one’s got them old-school graphics, like a blast from the past, but it still holds up real nice. You gotta manage your resources, send out your units, and fight for control of the battlefield. If ya like a little bit of nostalgia mixed with strategy, this one’s for ya.

There’s a lot more out there too, like Disgaea 5 and XCOM 2, but we ain’t got time to talk ‘bout every single one. What matters most is that if you like games where ya gotta use your noggin, Nintendo Switch’s got plenty to offer. Some games got big ol’ stories, some got quick, tactical battles, but all of ‘em need you to think and plan if you wanna win. So, don’t waste no time – get out there and start playin’ some of these fine games. You won’t regret it, I promise ya that. Good luck and have fun, now!
