Pokemon Go October 2025 Events: Raid Bosses, Spotlight Hours, Community Day, And More


Pokemon Go’s Tales of Transformation season continues in October with a variety of different events happening over the next few weeks. In addition to new Spotlight Hours and raid bosses, the game will host a few autumn-themed activities this month like the Harvest Festival, which will introduce two new evolved forms of Applin.

On top of that, there’s also Mega Rayquaza Raid Day to look forward to, as well as an event to celebrate the launch of the Pokemon series’ latest title, Pokemon Legends: Z-A. And of course, October wouldn’t be complete without the annual Halloween event, which will be split up into two parts this year and add a few new ghost and costumed Pokemon to catch.

Pokemon Go is refreshing its raid rotation once again with a new selection of legendary and Mega Pokemon to challenge this month.

Multiple forms of Deoxys and Genesect are returning to five-star raids over the next few weeks, while a slew of Mega-Evolved Pokemon will make an encore appearance in Mega raids. You can also encounter some seasonal Dynamax Pokemon in Max Battles throughout the month, including Gastly and Woobat.

Pokemon Go’s weekly Spotlight Hour events continue in October with a new selection of Pokemon and bonuses.

Every Tuesday evening from 6-7 PM local time, one particular species of Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild. On top of that, you’ll earn an extra bonus for participating in the event, such as double Stardust or XP when you catch Pokemon.

Steel Skyline

Pokemon Go is kicking off October with the Steel Skyline event, which runs until October 7.

As its name suggests, steel-type and other city-dwelling Pokemon like Alolan Diglett, Galarian Meowth, Skarmory, Trubbish, and Klink will appear in the wild more frequently throughout the event. You’ll also have a chance to encounter Dynamax Duraludon; the steel/dragon Pokemon will appear in four-star Max Battles.

On top of the featured Pokemon, various Global Challenges will be active during the event, with different rewards unlocking as players collectively complete these missions. There will also be free event-themed Field and Timed Research tasks, as well as a paid Timed Research ticket that offers additional challenges and rewards.

Mega Metagross is making its long-awaited Pokemon Go debut as part of a Mega Raid Day event on October 4.

The Mega-Evolved Pokemon will appear in gyms as a Mega raid boss from 2-5 PM local time. Each Metagross you face will know the ghost-type Fast Attack Shadow Claw, and you’ll have an increased chance of encountering a shiny one if you successfully clear the raid.

A few bonuses will also be active during the event. As usual, the number of Remote Raid Passes you can hold will be temporarily increased to 20, letting you participate in more battles remotely. On top of that, you can receive up to five extra free Raid Passes when you spin the Photo Disc at gyms.

Harvest Festival

Pokemon Go is celebrating the arrival of fall with a Harvest Festival event from October 10-16.

As part of the festivities, two new Pokemon are making their debut in the game: Dipplin and Hydrapple. You’ll also be able to collect a new type of item: Syrupy Apples. These may appear at PokeStops that are equipped with an active Mossy Lure Module.

Other autumny Pokemon like Miltank, Combee, and Smoliv will also appear more frequently during the event, and a few bonuses will be active. You’ll earn double candy when you catch a Pokemon with Pinap or Silver Pinap Berries, and you’ll have increased odds of encountering shiny versions of Pumpkaboo and Smoliv.

October’s Community Day takes place on October 12, and the featured Pokemon this time is the psychic type Solosis.

From 2-5 PM local time, Solosis will appear in the wild more frequently than usual, making this a good chance to catch some and stock up on Solosis candy. Thanks to the increased spawn rate, you’ll have better odds of encountering a shiny Solosis as well.

As the featured Pokemon, Solosis is also able to learn an event-exclusive attack. If you can evolve one into Reuniclus by 9 PM local time, the Pokemon will automatically learn the fairy-type Fast Attack Charm upon evolving.

Rounding out the event are a few other in-game bonuses. You’ll earn triple Stardust and double candy for catching Pokemon, while players who are level 31 and above will be twice as likely to also earn Candy XL. On top of that, any Incense that you activate will last for three hours, while Lure Modules will last for one.

Pokemon Go is celebrating the launch of Pokemon Legends: Z-A with a special crossover event from October 16-20.

Throughout the event, Mega raids will occur at gyms more frequently than usual, giving you more chances to fill out your Pokedex and earn Mega Energy. On top of that, there will be free Timed Research tasks. Completing these will net you various rewards, including opportunities to catch the three starter Pokemon from Z-A: Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile. Finally, the Style Shop will add new Z-A-inspired outfits for your avatar.

Mega Raid Day

Mega Rayquaza is swooping in for a special Mega Raid Day event on October 18.

From 2-5 PM local time, Mega Rayquaza will appear in gyms as a Mega raid boss. If you’re able to successfully clear the raid, you’ll have increased odds of encountering a shiny Rayquaza afterward.

On top of that, there will also be free Timed Research tasks to complete during the event. These will reward you with a Meteorite, which is required to teach Rayquaza the Charged Attack Dragon Ascent.

Halloween 2025 Part I

Pokemon Go is closing out the month with its annual Halloween event. Like previous years, the festivities will be broken up into two parts, the first of which runs October 21-27.

Two new ghost Pokemon are making their debut during the event: Poltchageist and its evolved form, Sinistcha. On top of that, shiny Sinistea will be appearing for the first time in Pokemon Go.

Along with the new Pokemon, plenty of ghost and dark Pokemon like Greavard, Zorua, and Hisuian Zorua will appear in the wild and in raid battles more frequently. You’ll also have a chance to encounter themed Pokemon as you complete Field Research tasks during the event.

Halloween 2025 Part II

The second leg of Pokemon Go’s Halloween 2025 celebration runs October 27-November 2.

During this portion of the event, various costume-wearing Pokemon will appear in the wild and as raid bosses. In addition to costumed Pokemon from previous years, you’ll also have a chance to encounter some new spooky Pokemon, like Teddiursa wearing a witch hat and Noibat wearing a headband.

On top of that, there will be more event-themed Field Research tasks to complete. Clear these and you’ll earn different rewards, including additional encounters with the featured Pokemon and Mega Energy for Houndoom, Gengar, Sableye, and other monsters.

A few bonuses will also be available. Not only will you have increased odds of encountering shiny costumed Pokemon through raids during the entire event, but you’ll also be able to earn some extra candy on October 31. Costumed Pokemon that you catch with a Nice Throw or better on Halloween will have a chance to give Rare Candy or Rare Candy XL.
