genshin impact artifacts calculator

Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Genshin Impact, right? And man, those artifacts… getting the right stats can be a real pain. I kept getting, like, DEF% on everything when I needed Crit Rate. It was driving me nuts! So, I thought, “There’s gotta be a better way to figure this out.” That’s when I started looking into making an “artifacts calculator”.

First, I just started by jotting down some notes in my notebook. You know, like, what stats are even possible on each artifact type? Flower always has flat HP, feather always has flat ATK, and then the sands, goblet, and circlet can have all sorts of different main stats.

Then, I thought about substats. Every artifact gets, what, four substats at +0 if you are lucky? Or three and then get one added on? And then they get upgraded randomly when you level them up. It’s all so…random! My idea was to somehow calculate the probability of getting, say, a Crit Rate circlet with Crit DMG and ATK% substats.

So, I opened up a spreadsheet. Yeah, a good old spreadsheet. Started listing out all the possible main stats for each artifact type. It got messy pretty quick, especially trying to remember the exact percentages for each stat. Like, I think Crit Rate on a circlet is lower chance than, say, HP%, but I wasn’t 100% sure.

After staring at the spreadsheet for, like, an hour, I realized I needed some data. Where I found these datas? Ah…I cannot tell you, it is my secret. But you should know, find data is important!

I put all the stats and their probabilities (as best as I could find them) into the spreadsheet. It looked like a monster, seriously. Then, I had to figure out the math. This is where I started to get a little lost. I’m not a statistician, okay? I just wanted to know if I should keep farming for that perfect goblet or settle for “good enough.”

The basic idea I had was this: multiply the probability of getting the main stat you want by the probabilities of getting the substats you want. Sounds simple, right? Nope. Because you have those four substat upgrades, and each one could hit any of the four substats (or add a new one if you started with three). My brain started to hurt.

The “Aha!” Moment (Sort Of)

I realized I was going about this the wrong way. Trying to calculate the exact probability of getting the perfect artifact was basically impossible. There were too many variables! Instead, I decided to simplify. I focused on just calculating the probability of getting a specific main stat. That was much easier.

  • Flower: Always flat HP, so 100% chance. Easy!
  • Feather: Always flat ATK, so 100% chance. Still easy!
  • Sands: This is where it gets tricky. You have, like, ATK%, DEF%, HP%, Elemental Mastery, and Energy Recharge. I used the percentages I’d found.
  • Goblet: Even worse! You have all the elemental DMG bonuses (Pyro, Cryo, etc.), plus the same stats as the Sands. More percentages!
  • Circlet: Crit Rate, Crit DMG, Healing Bonus, ATK%, DEF%, HP%, Elemental Mastery. A whole mess of options.

I used simple formulas in the spreadsheet to calculate the chance of getting, say, an ATK% sands. Just took the percentage for ATK% and… well, that was it. It wasn’t perfect, but it gave me a rough idea. I could enter 1/7 for 7 different main stat for example. I can also change it to fit other situations. It’s easy to calculate.

For the substats, I gave up on calculating exact probabilities. Instead, I just made a list of “desirable” substats for each character (like, Crit Rate and Crit DMG for a DPS, Energy Recharge for a support). That way, I could at least look at an artifact and quickly see if it had any potential.

So, did I build a fancy, fully-functional artifact calculator? Nope. But did I create a slightly-less-confusing way to manage my artifact farming? Yeah, I think so. It’s still a work in progress, and it’s definitely not perfect. But it’s better than just randomly throwing artifacts at my characters and hoping for the best! The key takeaway? Focus on the main stat first, then worry about good substats. Don’t get lost in the weeds trying to get perfect rolls – it’ll drive you crazy!
