gamo urban review
Okay, so I finally got my hands on the Gamo Urban. I’d heard some buzz about it, and being the curious type, I decided to give it a whirl and see what all the fuss was about. Here’s how it went down.
Unboxing and First Impressions
First things first, I ordered the rifle. When the package showed up, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I ripped open the box and there it was. The Urban felt pretty solid right out of the box. It’s not too heavy, but it definitely doesn’t feel like a toy either. I liked the synthetic stock – it felt sturdy and comfortable to hold.
Setting It Up
Next up, I needed to get it ready to shoot. I grabbed my hand pump (because I didn’t want to mess with a scuba tank) and started pumping. Let me tell you, it’s a bit of a workout! It took a while, but I eventually got the rifle filled up to the recommended pressure. I mounted a scope I had lying around – nothing fancy, just something to help me see the target better.
Heading to the Range
With everything set up, I headed out to my backyard range. I set up some paper targets at about 25 yards. I loaded up the magazine, which was pretty straightforward, and took my first shot. Wow! This thing is quiet. Seriously, it’s way quieter than my other air rifles. I was impressed.
Putting It Through Its Paces
I spent the next hour or so just plinking away at the targets. I wanted to get a feel for the trigger, the accuracy, and the overall shooting experience.

- Trigger: The trigger is pretty good. It’s got a clean break and it’s not too heavy. I’d say it’s definitely above average for an air rifle in this price range.
- Accuracy: I was consistently hitting my targets. The groups weren’t super tight, but they were definitely good enough for backyard plinking and small game hunting. I think with a better scope and some more practice, I could tighten those groups up even more.
- Power: The Urban has plenty of power for what it is. It’s not going to win any long-range competitions, but it’s definitely got enough punch for pest control and small game.
- Shoot Consistently:I fill it up to 200bar,and I can get almost 40 shoots before I feel the power is decrease.
My Overall Thoughts
After spending a good amount of time with Gamo Urban,
I have to say I’m pretty happy with.
If you’re looking for an affordable, quiet, and accurate air rifle, the Gamo Urban is definitely worth considering.
It is well-built. It shoot accurately. It has enough power to hunt samll games.
