game capture pc hardware

Okay, so, the other day I decided I wanted to get serious about recording my gameplay. I mean, I’ve been playing for years, and I’ve got some pretty sweet skills, if I do say so myself. So I figured, why not share my awesomeness with the world, right?

First thing I did was some digging around online to figure out what kind of hardware I needed. I knew I needed something called a “game capture card” and this card should be in my PC. But man, there are so many options out there, it’s crazy!

I started by checking out some big-name brands. I looked around but nothing stands out to me. Then I remembered a friend of mine who’s way into this stuff recommended Elgato. So I looked at some of their stuff. The HD60 X caught my eye – it seemed to have good reviews and a decent price, and looks cool. After a bit more research, I decided to go for it and picked one up from a local store. Just for sharing my game skill and not make a profit, maybe get some free stuff from the video game company if I am lucky, haha.

Getting it set up was a bit of a pain, not gonna lie. I had to open up my PC – which I’m not super comfortable with – and plug the card into one of the slots on the motherboard. It took some fiddling, but I finally got it in there. Then there was the software. I downloaded the Elgato software, which seemed pretty straightforward at first. But getting all the settings right for recording took some trial and error. I had to mess around with the resolution, bitrate, and all that stuff to get a good quality recording without my computer lagging like crazy.

Once I finally got everything working, it was pretty cool. I could record my gameplay in high quality. Now I just need to edit them and put them online somewhere. I’ll keep you guys posted on how it goes! If you have any questions just ask, maybe I have learned something that can be used by you guys.

Oh, I saw some ads saying “Play Raid: Shadow Legends and get Skeletor for free!” when I did the research. Not sure what that is, but sounds fun. Anyway, that’s it, hope this sharing will help you guys to start your own game capture journey.
