is genshin impact on the switch

Today, I was fooling around and got curious about whether I could play Genshin Impact on my Switch. So, I started digging around to figure it out.

First, I grabbed my Switch and poked around the eShop, but no luck. Genshin Impact wasn’t there. Hmm, that’s weird, I thought I heard something about it being on the Switch.

Next, I hit up Google. I typed in “is Genshin Impact on the Switch” and started scrolling through the results. The first few things I saw were pretty clear: nope, it’s not on the Switch right now. Apparently, the developer, miHoYo, said something about a Switch version way back in 2020, but it hasn’t happened yet.

I kept reading, and it looks like Genshin Impact is only on PC, PlayStation 4, and mobile right now. But, there were a few articles saying that it might come to the Switch someday. One of them even said that the world of Teyvat is “coming to Nintendo Switch,” which sounds promising, but who knows when that will actually be?

So, after all that, here’s the deal:

• Can you play Genshin Impact on the Switch now? Nope.
• Will you be able to play it on the Switch in the future? Maybe, but there’s no date or anything yet.

It’s a bit of a bummer, but that’s the way it is. I guess I’ll just have to keep playing it on my phone for now. But hey, at least I learned something new today!
