genshin impact x tortured reader
Okay, so, let me tell you about this wild ride I had the other day. I’ve been messing around with this “Genshin Impact x Tortured Reader” thing, and let me just say, it’s been a trip.
First off, I started by, like, brainstorming, right? I was thinking, what if you take the world of Genshin Impact, which is already pretty intense, and throw in a reader character who’s been through some real stuff? Dark, I know, but hear me out.
So, I started reading some fanfics and stuff online. There’s a lot of it based on the idea of the reader getting isekai’d into the game. For example, I saw one where the reader got hit by a car and woke up as an NPC in Inazuma. Wild, right? There’s also a lot of reader-inserts that deal with depression and stuff, which gave me some ideas.
Then I started outlining my own story. I was trying to combine a few ideas, like, what if the reader is someone who’s being hunted by some powerful bad guys, and they end up in Teyvat? It felt a bit cliche, but I figured I could make it work. I spent, like, a whole afternoon just writing down plot points and character ideas. My notebook looked like a crazy person’s diary by the end of it, I swear.
Next, I jumped into the actual writing. I started with a scene where the reader is, like, totally freaking out, having a panic attack in the middle of Mondstadt. I wanted it to be super emotional, you know? Like, really get into the reader’s head and show how messed up they are. I tried to make it as vivid as possible, describing the sights and sounds of the city, but also showing how the reader is just not processing any of it because they’re so caught up in their own pain.

Then came the hard part: introducing a Genshin character. I chose Xiao, because, I don’t know, he just seemed like the type to stumble upon someone having a breakdown in the wilderness. I spent hours trying to get his voice right. It’s tricky, man! You want him to be in character, but also react in a way that makes sense given the situation. After a bunch of rewrites, I finally got a scene I was happy with. It’s not perfect, but it’s something.
- Wrote a scene where Xiao finds the reader.
- Spent way too long trying to perfect it.
- Gave up and decided it was “good enough.”
Then I was looking at some other stuff online, like different fan theories and headcanons. Some people have some really creative ideas, like what happens if the game world glitches because of the traveler? That got me thinking about how I could incorporate that into my story. Like, maybe the reader’s presence in Teyvat starts causing problems, and that’s how they get discovered by the bad guys or something. I don’t know, it’s still a work in progress.
Some More Brainstorming
- Found some cool fan theories online.
- Started thinking about how to add them to my story.
- Got distracted by other fanfics.
- Spent the rest of the night reading instead of writing.
- Story not finished yet.
I ended up with a couple of chapters, but it’s far from finished. It’s a mess, honestly. One minute it’s super angsty, the next it’s kind of fluffy? I don’t even know. But hey, it’s been fun. And who knows, maybe I’ll actually finish it someday. Or maybe it’ll just end up as another unfinished project in my ever-growing pile of abandoned stories. We’ll see, I guess.
Anyway, that’s my experience with the whole “Genshin Impact x Tortured Reader” thing. It’s been a wild ride, and I’m not even sure where it’s going. But that’s the fun of it, right?
