remember me video game review

Okay, so, today I’m going to talk about this game called “Remember Me.” I started playing it last week, and boy, it’s been a ride.

First off, I downloaded the game. It took a while because, you know, my internet’s not the fastest. Once it was all set up, I launched it and got right into it. You play as this character named Nilin, and let me tell you, she’s pretty cool.

The game throws you into this futuristic world, Neo-Paris, which looks amazing. I spent a good chunk of time just walking around, taking in the sights. The graphics are really something else. Anyway, the story starts a bit slow, you find out Nilin has lost her memory, she escaped from her former employers and she’s trying to figure out what’s going on.

Here’s where it gets interesting

  • Combat: At first, the fighting was a bit tricky. I had to learn these combos, and it took some practice. But once I got the hang of it, it felt pretty awesome. Mixing and matching different moves, dodging attacks, it’s like a dance, but with punches and kicks.
  • Memory Remixing: This is a cool feature. You get to go into people’s memories and change them. It’s like being a director in a movie, but you’re changing the plot to get the outcome you want. I found this part to be super unique and really enjoyed messing around with it.
  • Exploration: Like I said, the city is huge and there’s a lot to see. I spent hours just exploring, finding hidden items, and learning more about the world. The environment’s super detailed.

I played for about 10 hours just to get through the main story. It was engaging, and I wanted to see how it ended. It’s one of those stories that makes you think a bit, you know? After finishing the main part, I went back to explore some more. There’s so much to do if you want to get 100% completion. I’m not there yet, but I’m guessing it’ll take me around 18 hours in total.

Some thoughts

The game’s not perfect. Sometimes the camera angles were a bit wonky, and the platforming could be frustrating at times. But honestly, the story and the combat kept me hooked. It was a fun ride, even with the little bumps along the way.

I heard some rumors about a sequel, “Remember Me 2,” but it sounds like it’s not happening. That’s a bummer because I would’ve loved to see where they took Nilin’s story next. Apparently, the developers moved on to other projects, like “Life is Strange,” which I’ve also heard good things about.

Overall, I really enjoyed “Remember Me.” It’s a unique game with a cool story, great combat, and a beautiful world to explore. If you’re into action-adventure games with a bit of a twist, I’d definitely recommend giving it a shot. It’s a memorable experience, even with its flaws.
