pokemon sun and moon game review

Okay, so, I finally got around to playing Pokemon Sun and Moon. It’s been on my list for a while, and I gotta say, I was pretty stoked to dive into the Alola region. I grabbed my copy and started my journey.

First off, I spent a good chunk of time just exploring. This Alola region is amazing, totally different from the other regions I’ve played through. It felt so fresh, so inspired. I wasn’t just running around looking for items or good spots to grind, I was actually enjoying the scenery, you know? It was rewarding just to see what was around the next corner.

And the story! Man, this is the most story-heavy Pokemon game I’ve played. Like, ever. It took me around 33 hours to get through the main objectives, which is quite a lot for a Pokemon game. Usually, I just breeze through these games, but this one, I took my time. I wanted to see everything, talk to everyone. If you’re someone who wants to see all aspects of the game you might need to spend like 140 hours on it.

I also tried out some different Pokemon, experimented with different teams. That’s always a fun part of these games, right? I learned a lot of new strategies along the way. The Totem Pokemon battles were tough, they really tested my skills. I mean, these games aren’t the easiest in the series. They’ve got some real challenges, especially those Totem battles. They have some depth to their fights, unlike some of the older games.

My Pokemon Team

  • Incineroar – My trusty starter, evolved all the way from Litten. This guy was a powerhouse.
  • Lycanroc (Midday Form) – Caught this one as a Rockruff. Super fast and hit hard.
  • Golisopod – Found a Wimpod and trained it up. Took a while, but totally worth it.
  • Mimikyu – This little guy is creepy but awesome. Its ability saved me so many times.
  • Kommo-o – Took forever to find a Jangmo-o, but this pseudo-legendary was a beast.
  • Ninetales (Alolan Form) – Got a Vulpix from a trade and evolved it. Beautiful and strong.

After beating the main story, I started working on completing my Pokedex. That’s a whole other challenge in itself. It took a lot of time, but I’m a completionist at heart, so I had to do it. I think I ended up spending close to 140 hours in total.

I’d recommend it to any Pokemon fan, whether you’re new to the series or a seasoned veteran. Trust me, it’s a good time. There are many more Pokemon, moves, items, and better bosses than before. It gave me a better game experience.
