dragon ball z taiketsu game will not run hardware
Man, I’ve been trying to get this old Dragon Ball Z: Taiketsu game running on my emulator, and it’s been a real pain in the neck. Every time I think I’ve got it figured out, it throws that “This game will not run on this hardware” error at me. It’s like the game is teasing me or something.
I spent hours last night messing around with every setting I could find. First, I dug into the emulator options. It says, “Go to the Options Tab and then GBA Emulation or Emulator (depends) then Save Type and finally.” Okay, no problem, I can do that. I changed the save type, reloaded the game, but nope, still the same error. Ugh, this is frustrating!
Then I remembered reading something about a similar issue with another Dragon Ball Z game, “Buu’s Fury.” Someone mentioned that they got the same error when they entered the Great Kai’s house. I don’t even know where that is in Taiketsu, but it got me thinking that maybe it’s a common problem with these older DBZ games.
I tried pressing “Start” on the title screen, just like some forum post suggested, and guess what? The error message popped up again! “This game will not run on this hardware.” Seriously? I mean, at least it’s consistent, I guess.
I stumbled upon another post about Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II. Someone said they got the error right after Gohan got his Saiyan armor. Okay, different game, different part, but it’s the same darn error. It’s starting to feel like these games are just cursed or something.

There was this one guy who claimed he fixed it for both Legacy of Goku and Taiketsu. He said “No forced settings and currently on Kernel 1.03 and firmware 4.0.” What does that even mean? Is that some secret code? I tried to find those settings in my emulator, but no luck. It’s like he’s speaking a different language. I double-checked all my settings, made sure everything was up-to-date, but still nothing. The game just refuses to cooperate.
And then, to add insult to injury, I saw a post that said, “the taiketsu keeps on saying it doesn’t work on this hardware when i put on the emulator what do you do or which emulator do you get.” That’s exactly my problem! But of course, there was no helpful answer, just more people complaining about the same issue. So I switched to another emulator and copied everything from the previous one. And I loaded the game again. “This game will not run on this hardware” again! I almost threw my computer out the window.
What did I do next?
After calming down, I decided I need to find a solution.
- I searched for more information about the “Kernel” and “firmware” versions the guy mentioned. Maybe I’m missing a specific update or something. It might be the key to getting this game to work.
- I looked for a different version of the game ROM. Maybe the one I have is corrupted or just incompatible with my emulator. It’s worth a shot, right?
- I considered reaching out to the guy who said he fixed it. Maybe he can explain those “Kernel” and “firmware” settings in more detail. I’m getting desperate here.
I haven’t given up yet, but man, this game is really testing my patience. I just want to play some nostalgic DBZ, is that too much to ask? Anyway, I’ll keep you guys updated on my progress. Wish me luck!
