Okay, so today I wanna talk about this book, “Games of Strategy”. Yeah, the one by Dixit. I finally got around to reading it, and let me tell you, it’s been quite a ride. I heard about this book from one of my friends, and I decided to give it a try.

First off, I went and ordered the book online. Took a few days to arrive, but that’s the way it goes. While I was waiting, I did a little digging around, you know, just to get a feel for what I was getting into. Checked out some reviews, skimmed a few summaries—stuff like that. Most of them just said this book is a guide to game theory or something.

When the book finally showed up, I cracked it open right away. Started from the beginning, just reading through it, chapter by chapter. It wasn’t easy, I gotta admit. Some of those concepts, they really make you think. But I stuck with it, kept at it. And you know what? I took my own time to read each chapter at least twice.

I started jotting down notes as I went. Just little things, you know, whatever caught my eye or seemed important. It helped to write it all out, made it easier to wrap my head around it all. Underlined some of the important sentences.

  • The first few chapters were pretty straightforward.
  • Got into some tougher stuff later on.
  • But I kept at it, kept pushing through.

And then, I decided to try out some of the examples they had in the book. That was a whole different story. Some of them worked out okay, others not so much. But it was a good way to really see how these ideas play out in real life, you know? And a good way to test myself.

After a while, I started to see patterns. Started to understand how it all fits together. That was a good feeling, I gotta say. Like it was all finally clicking into place. A-ha! Finally, I got what the book is talking about.

In the end, I finished the whole book. Took me a while, but I did it. And you know what? I actually learned a lot. It’s not just about games, it’s about life, about making decisions, about strategy. I think the author did a really good job explaining these hard concepts in an easy way.

So yeah, that’s my experience with “Games of Strategy” by Dixit. It was tough, it was challenging, but it was worth it. If you’re into this kind of stuff, I’d definitely recommend giving it a read.

What I learned from the book:

  • Game theory is not as simple as I thought.
  • Taking notes is really useful when studying.
  • Applying concepts to real-life situations solidifies my learning.

So, yeah, that’s my little adventure with “Games of Strategy”. Hope you found it interesting. Maybe it’ll inspire you to pick up the book yourself. Who knows?
