This here game, this empire game, it’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. You gotta build things, like in them old days, but it’s all fancy-like on the computer. My grandson, bless his heart, he showed me. Said it was a “strategy” game. Sounds important, don’t it?

You gotta think real hard, like when you’re countin’ chickens before they hatch. Gotta make sure you got enough of this and that. Like buildin’ a good strong fence, gotta keep them wolves out, ya know? This empire game strategy, it’s like that. Gotta keep them bad guys out, whoever they are.

First thing ya see is this big ol’ map thing. Lots of colors. And you gotta pick where you wanna be. Like pickin’ the best spot in the garden for your tomatoes. Gotta have good sun, good dirt. This game, it’s the same. Gotta pick a good spot to start your… your empire, that’s what they call it. This is a good strategy for empire game.

Then you start buildin’. Houses, and farms, and places for your little people to work. It’s a good strategy, make them people work hard, but not too hard. Gotta keep ’em happy, or they might just up and leave. Like when old Bessie’s cow got loose, wandered right off into the woods. Gotta keep ’em fed, keep ’em watered, that’s what I always say. This is a good empire game strategy.

• Buildin’ houses is important, real important.
• Gotta have food, lots of food in this strategy game.
• And wood, gotta chop that wood, just like my old man used to do.

And soldiers! Oh, them soldiers. Gotta have strong boys to protect your stuff. Like I said, keep them wolves out. These boys, they march around, lookin’ all tough. They fight the bad guys, if they show up. It’s real excitin’, like when two roosters get into a fight. This is a good empire game strategy, you know?

This empire game, it’s got all sorts of things. You can make friends with other folks, other empires, I reckon. Or you can fight ’em. Up to you. Just like in real life, I suppose. Some folks you get along with, some folks you don’t. But it’s a good strategy to make friends.

My grandson, he’s real good at this game. He’s always clickin’ away, makin’ things happen. Me, I just watch mostly. But I understand it, more or less. It is a strategy game, I need to think more. It’s like plantin’ seeds, you gotta plan ahead. Gotta know what you’re gonna do before you do it.

• Soldiers protect your stuff, that’s important.
• Makin’ friends is good, sometimes, but it’s not a good strategy all the time.
• Fightin’ is loud, but sometimes ya gotta do it, you know?

This game, it’s got these things called “resources.” That’s a fancy word for stuff. Wood, and food, and gold. Gotta have lots of that stuff to make your empire big and strong. Just like savin’ up your pennies, gotta have a little nest egg for a rainy day. So, getting more resources is a good strategy.

And you can make your people learn things, too. New ways to build things, new ways to fight. It’s like learnin’ a new recipe, makes things better, tastier. This strategy game makes me learn more.

There is one game, they call it “Civilization”. It’s a good one. You can be a farmer, or a king. That’s a good empire game. My grandson loves that one. He said this is a good strategy game. Sounds like a good empire game strategy.

I remember there is one game named “Stellaris”, it is a strategy game, but it’s in the sky. Not on the ground. With stars and spaceships. Not my cup of tea, but some folks like it. I like stay on the ground, you know.

Sometimes, folks just wanna build things. Like a little town, just mindin’ their own business. That’s okay, too. This strategy game is not just about fightin’. It’s about buildin’ somethin’ nice, somethin’ that lasts.

• Gold is good, gotta have gold.
• Learnin’ new things makes you stronger.
• Buildin’ things that last is a good feelin’. It is a good strategy.

This empire game strategy, it’s got somethin’ for everyone, I reckon. If you like fightin’, you can fight. If you like buildin’, you can build. If you like thinkin’ real hard, well, you can do that, too. Just remember to keep them people happy, and keep them wolves out. And you’ll do just fine. You will get a good empire, I think. This is a good strategy.

One more thing, this strategy game, it takes time. Like growin’ a good crop of corn, it don’t happen overnight. Gotta be patient, gotta keep workin’ at it. And one day, you’ll have a big, strong empire, just like you wanted. That’s the best strategy, I think, just be patient, work hard, you know what I mean.

There’s a whole bunch of these strategy games out there, more than you can shake a stick at. Some are about history, like that “Age of Empires” one, where you can be a Roman or somethin’. My grandson, he plays that one a lot, says it’s real “historical.” Sounds fancy. But it is a good empire game, I think.
