Genshin Impact Version Update Found: Please Start the Launcher
Alright, so you’re tellin’ me that there’s a new Genshin thingy, a “version update,” huh? And I gotta “start the launcher”? Sounds like a whole lotta hoo-ha to me, but okay, let’s see what this is all about.
First off, what’s a “launcher” anyway? Is it like one of them slingshots the kids used to play with? Probably not, knowing these fancy game folks. Sounds more like one of them doohickeys that opens up all them other doohickeys on your computin’ machine.
Now, they say somethin’ about a “notification pop-up.” Pop-up, like a toad jumpin’ outta the mud? I guess it means somethin’s gonna show up on the screen, right? And it’ll tell me about this update. They want me to “agree” to stuff. Agree to what? Probably gonna try and sell me somethin’, them city slickers always doin’ that.
- First thing first, find that “launcher” thing. It’s probably on that there desktop screen, all them little pictures and whatnots. Look for the Genshin picture.
- Then, you gotta click it, I think. Use that little arrow thingy and click-click.
- If that toad jumps up, that “pop-up” they was talkin’ about, read it. Well, skim it anyways. Just look for the “yes” or “ok” button and click it. Don’t go readin’ all that fine print, nobody got time for that.
- They say somethin’ about “installation path.” Sounds complicated. I reckon it just means where you want the game to put its new stuff. Just pick the regular place, whatever that is. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, that’s what I always say.
- Then, you wait. Just sit there and twiddle your thumbs. Maybe go get a cup of coffee, or do some knittin’. This update thingy takes a while, I hear.
Now, some folks say their launcher gets stuck. Stuck at “100%” they say. Hundred percent of what? Don’t make no sense to me. If it’s a hundred percent, shouldn’t it be done? Anyways, if that happens, they say you gotta restart your computin’ machine. Turn it off, then turn it back on. Like givin’ it a good kick in the pants, I guess.

And then, after all that, you can finally play the game again. All this fuss for a little update. Back in my day, we didn’t have no updates. You got what you got, and that was that. But I guess these young folks like their fancy updates and their “launchers.” Keeps ’em busy, I suppose.
What if you don’t see the “pop-up”? They say if you don’t see that jumpin’ toad, you gotta go find the “program files” or the “Genshin folder”. Sounds like lookin’ for a needle in a haystack to me. Program files? Genshin folder? What kinda names are those? Why can’t they just call things what they are?
Anyways, if you gotta go lookin’ for it, it means you’re gonna click on some other stuff. There’s that “this PC” thing on the desktop picture thingy. Click that. Then there’s the “C drive” thing. That’s where most stuff is, I think. Click that too. Then you gotta find them program files or that Genshin folder. Good luck with that, I say.
Honestly, this whole update business sounds like a pain in the neck. But I guess if you wanna keep playin’ that Genshin game, you gotta do what you gotta do. Just follow them steps, and hope for the best. And if you get stuck, well, ask one of them young folks for help. They seem to know all about this computin’ machine stuff.
In short, start the launcher thingy, click “yes” or “ok”, pick the regular place for the new stuff, wait a while, and then you should be good to go. And if it gets stuck, give your computin’ machine a kick in the pants by restarting it. Easy peasy, right? Well, maybe not so easy for an old gal like me, but you youngsters will figure it out, I’m sure. Now go on and play your game, and leave me to my knittin’.
