war strategy games for xbox one
Well now, let me tell ya somethin’ about them war strategy games for Xbox One. Folks these days, they like them shootin’ games, all that bang-bang stuff. But me? I like a game where ya gotta use your brain a little, ya know? Like plannin’ a garden, but instead of tomatoes, you’re plantin’ soldiers and tanks.
I ain’t no fancy gamer girl, mind you. I just like a good game that keeps me thinkin’. These war strategy games, they ain’t easy. You gotta figure out where to put your fellas, how to attack, and how to defend. It ain’t just about shootin’ everything that moves. You gotta be smart about it, like a fox in a henhouse.
Now, some of these games, they’re real complicated. Like that RimWorld game. Folks say it’s fun, but lordy, it’s got so many buttons and things, it makes my head spin. I tried it once, and I couldn’t even figure out how to plant a potato, let alone fight a war!
Then you got your Call of Duty games. Now, those are popular, everyone and their dog plays ‘em. But they’re mostly just shootin’ and runnin’ around. There’s a little bit of story in there, somethin’ about a war and all that, but it ain’t the same as plannin’ out a whole battle strategy.
- One game I did like was that Halo Wars 2. Now that’s a game where ya gotta use your head. You get to boss around them Spartans, them big fellas in the fancy armor. And you gotta tell ‘em where to go, who to shoot, and all that. It’s like bein’ a general, but without all the yellin’ and the fancy uniforms.
- And there’s this here Civilization 6 game. Folks say it’s a classic, been around forever. I ain’t played it much, but from what I hear, it’s all about buildin’ up your own little empire and takin’ over the world. Sounds like a lot of work to me, but some folks like that kind of thing.
There’s even a game called The Great War: Western Front. Now, this one’s about that big war, the one with all the trenches and the mud. I seen pictures of it in them history books. It looks awful, but the game, it’s supposed to be real thinky. You gotta plan your attacks carefully, or you’ll lose all your fellas real quick.

Some of these games, they got these pretty pictures, like you’re really there in the jungle or the desert. They call it “immersive.” Like that game, somethin’ about “guerrilla warfare.” Sounds dangerous, but the pictures are real nice. Makes ya feel like you’re hidin’ in the bushes, waitin’ for the enemy to come by.
And there’s a whole bunch more, too many to name. Some are turn-based, where you take your turn, then the other fella takes his. Others are real-time, where everything’s happening at once. It’s like a chicken coop, everyone running around clucking and flapping their wings.
But the thing about all these war strategy games is, they make you think. You gotta plan ahead, you gotta anticipate what the other fella’s gonna do, and you gotta be ready to change your plans on the fly. It ain’t like them shootin’ games where you just run in and blast everything. You gotta be smart, ya gotta be patient, and ya gotta be a little bit lucky.
So if you’re lookin’ for a game that’ll challenge your brain, not just your trigger finger, then you might want to give one of these Xbox One war strategy games a try. Just don’t expect it to be easy. These games, they’ll make you sweat, they’ll make you curse, and they’ll make you think harder than you ever thought you could. But in the end, when you finally win, it’s a real good feelin’, like you actually accomplished somethin’. Like bakin’ the perfect apple pie, but with more explosions.
And remember, even if you lose, it ain’t the end of the world. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and try again. That’s what I always say. And maybe, just maybe, next time you’ll be the one plantin’ your flag on the enemy’s territory.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed them chickens.
