infamous second son game review

Alright, alright, let me tell ya ’bout this here game, “Infamous Second Son.” My grandkids, they keep yappin’ about it, so I figured, what the heck, I’ll give it a whirl. Now, I ain’t no fancy gamer, mind you. I like things simple and to the point, ya hear?

So, this game, it’s about this fella, a young fella, looks like one of them Native fellas from the TV. He’s got powers, see? Like, he can shoot fire and stuff. The government, they don’t like folks with powers, so they’re chasin’ him all over the place. Sounds like a whole heap of trouble to me, but hey, that’s what makes it a game, I guess.

The Story, As I See It

Now, the story, it’s okay. It ain’t Shakespeare or nothin’, but it keeps ya goin’. This young fella, he’s got to learn to control his powers and fight back against the mean ol’ government. There’s good guys and bad guys, just like in real life, I reckon. You gotta make choices, see? You can be a good fella, helpin’ people out, or you can be a bad fella, causin’ trouble. My grandkids, they keep tellin’ me “grandma you gotta pick the evil side, it’s more fun.” But I say, “be good, respect your elders!” Kids these days, always lookin’ for trouble. Anyways, the story, it’s a bit short, I’d say. Finished it quicker than I can bake a pie. But then again, pie-bakin’ takes a good long while, so take that with a grain of salt. They say there’s two stories, one for good and one for evil, but it still felt kinda short to me. They coulda added more, you know? More stuff to do, more places to see.

The Fun Part, The Playin’

But the playin’, oh boy, the playin’ is where it’s at. This young fella, he can run real fast, climb up buildin’s like a squirrel, and shoot all sorts of powers. It’s fun, real fun. Reminds me of when I was a young’un, climbin’ trees and runnin’ through the fields. ‘Course, I didn’t have no fire powers, but a girl can dream, can’t she? You go around this city, doin’ missions, fightin’ bad guys. It’s what they call “open world,” means you can go anywhere you want. And the city, it looks real pretty. Shiny and new, not like the dusty old town I live in. They did a good job with the lookin’ part, that’s for sure. My old eyes even think it looks nice. There’s all these different ways to play, see? You can be sneaky, or you can go in guns blazin’. Keeps things interestin’, ya know? My grandkids, they like to blow stuff up. Boys, always with the explosions. But me, I like to be a bit more careful, takin’ my time.

  • Good things about the game:
    • Playin’ is fun, real fun.
    • The young fella’s powers are cool.
    • The city looks pretty.
    • Lots of ways to play, sneaky or loud.
  • Not-so-good things:
    • Story is a bit short.
    • Not much to do after you finish the story.

What’s the Big Deal with PS5?

Now, my grandkids, they say this game is even better on somethin’ called a “PS5.” Some newfangled game machine, I guess. Makes the game look even prettier and play smoother. I don’t know much about that, I’m still usin’ the old TV with the rabbit ears. But if you got one of them fancy new machines, I reckon it’d be even more fun. You know those youngins and their technology, it’s all too fast for an old lady like me.

Is it worth playin’?

So, is this “Infamous Second Son” game worth playin’? Well, I’d say so. It’s fun, it’s excitin’, and it keeps you busy for a while. Just don’t expect a long, complicated story. It’s more about the playin’, the runnin’ and jumpin’ and shootin’. And if you got a PS5, well, then you’re in for a real treat, I hear. But even on my old TV, it was a good time. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some dinner. All this talk about games has made me hungry.

Final thoughts, for what they’re worth

Overall, this game, it’s a good ‘un. Not perfect, mind you, but what is? It’s like a good ol’ apple pie. Sweet, satisfying, and leaves you wantin’ more. Just wish there was more pie, you know? More story, more things to do. But hey, I ain’t complainin’. It kept this old lady entertained for a good while, and that’s sayin’ somethin’.
